2012 Storm Chase Highlights.

    Well , 2012 Storm Chase comes to an end . 6 States traveled . Colorado , Kansas ,Nebraska , South Dakota , North Dakota ,Minnesota, 4200 Miles . One tornado , Numerous Supercells, one " Squall Line From Hell " , a stunning Milky Way display , disco style lightning , golf ball size hail ,a storm for each day. one HOT mexican meal , some "LEVEL 7 Rain" .. and ye an all round great laugh with everyone! Hoping i can sleep on the flight 2moro but its highly unlikely...
    Looks like im once again bringing some storms home with me for Wednesday! :D

    What settings did you use for this shot?? I've been trying to get some shots of the stars before but its proving difficult to get a clear image like this.

    Hey Mike,

    2 things that made a shot like this come out well. That fact that it was one of the darkest places in South Dakota with no town lights for miles. Then the fact my camera works well at high ISO speed which is key to pick up faint lights at distances.

    All exif data can be viewed in the flickr links by goin to the image and clicking " Actions - View Exif Data"

    Heres the one for this shot.

    Exposure 30
    Aperture f/4.2
    Focal Length 11.5 mm
    ISO Speed 3200


    We were all practically drooling when we saw cars coming around the road and lighting up the surroundings! :)
