Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

i have a car which the paperwork states was first registered (in the uk) in 1996 and beside it has decl/d manuf 1976 (presumably manufactured in 1976 which makes sense as it is a 1970s car..)

but my question is would i have to pay 200 to vrt this car or pay more due to the first date of registration being 1996?? the car presumably was never on the public road up until 1996?.

    thanks

Could have been an import into the UK on 96.

If its a 70s car its €200 (Unless its Actuallt on a P plate :)

You use this site to give both the manufacture date and the date of first registration in the UK.

I raise this query with the customs recently, and was told that its the year of manufacture that they go by.

If that's the case, (from my memory), then if the day/month isn't known, they default it to the 1st Jan of the year in question.
