Same with those Viking Tours around Dublin, basically the same as New York introducing airplane shaped tour buses of the city where everyone gets to dress as a Jihadist and scream "Allah Akbar" at passers by.

    TOO SOON!!!

I believe life on a pirate ship was quite egalitarian compared with the navy boats.

    Source.

yes and as far as i remember Haiti or therabouts, a pirate hold-out was the world's first attempted democracy - or something to that effect. (no, Athens wasn't a full democracy)

still reckon it's the boots though

People just like other criminals in the same way though. It's not just pirates.

Think of the Godfather and the Sopranos and they way they romanticize mobsters.

Hate to crush every ones "Johnny Depp" pirate fantasy.................

But most Pirates were GAY :eek::eek:

Hence the earing in the certain ear thing, it said which way you were swinging!

    You wouldn't steal a dvd.

You wouldn't illegally download a film.

You wouldn't stream copyrighted content without paying for it.

You wouldn't steal a treasure chest.

    Report piracy. It's a crime.

I don't think the Jihadists founded New York and had a kingdom there for several centuries while adopting American customs and intermarrying.

I think the word "priate", came from the word "privateer", which where free lance sailors and ships commisioned by royal or rich merchants, of a particular country.
And considering most European countries where at a power struggles for the shipping lanes with each other during the 1500 -1700, one countries pirate was another countries privateer.

So really they where just merchants, who thought the had a right to plunder another countries bounty, more than likely plundered by yet another counties resources.

I think the modern day "Rebel, with a cause" priate sounds way cooler though :)

They have great radio stations though and a lot of it is Classic Rock so they can't be all that bad.

Give it a few years and when the whole 911 thing blows over we might have a "Terrorists in the sky" franchise.

Live in something everyone else considers a mode of transport.

Sees law as more guidelines, really.

    Interesting take on business relationships.

    Almost impenetrable language and accent.

Pirates - travellers of the sea?
