How often does is this guy meant to come and read the meter. I was told its every 4 months. It's not even two months since he was last here when he came today

    Hi cena,

ESB Networks plan to read your meter 4 times a year (irrespective of which supplier you are with), so in a 12-month period customers can expect 2 estimations. This number may increase if there are difficulties in gaining access to the meter (e.g. locked gate/meter is inside and there is nobody home).

The average billing cycle is 61 days, so a reading should be due roughly every two months. Some billing cycles are shorted/longer than this however, but they should work out overall according to this approximation.

If it helps, we have a number of ways that you can submit readings, e.g. online, or with our Meter Reading App for Android/iPhone.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to give us a shout.

    Thanks,

    David.
