Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone bought in UK not unlocking

Hi, I bought an iPhone 4 in Britain. It was unlocked and sim-free. Cost me 429quid. I came back to Ireland and tried to put a wee sim into it but the message was one of those 'sim aint recognized' things, so I took it back to Vodafone and tried to put another sim into the phone and got the same message. The guys there said 'this phone isn't unlocked'. So now what?! Is there anything at all I can do? I have a 400 quid phone that can't do anything! Should I take it back? Try a uk sim?

    Thanks.

Where did you buy it? Because unless you got it directly from Apple, it wouldn't be factory unlocked.

carphone warehouse... and I know what the problem is, sorry, just worked it out. Their website says it's only for use with a uk sim. The guy in the store didn't tell me that. Brilliant. Useless info = bad purchase. Warning to others, eh? Watch out for this one.

Ask in a carphone warehouse here, perchance they'll cut you a deal of some sort.
