    Hiyas,

I just ordered a rig from Hardwareversand and realised that I should have ordered it under my business name and included my VAT number to avoid paying the VAT at source.

Anybody have any experience of claiming back VAT from the German government or would it be wiser to cancel and reorder as a business?

Also I have not received an email confirming my order which was placed an hour ago (6:30PM). I thought this was automated. Any ideas?

    Klaatu.

Cancel. And you're probably better off ordering from Scan.co.uk, it should work out cheaper (20% VAT off as opposed to the German 13%)

I thought it was 19% as well.

    Hiya,

Checked the cost of a similar build on both SCAN and Overclockers. HWVS is still miles cheaper. Also checked out a few Irish custom sites. Insane money.

Got in touch with HWVS and they are deducting the VAT from the bill as I have
    a registered VAT number.

As far as I know the standard rate of VAT in Germany is 19%.

    So quids in then.

    K.

I'm also putting an ex VAT build together and getting the components from Komplett and Dabs, mainly Dabs, it is working out €57 cheaper than HWVS. don't forget to use the coupon off codes that Dabs have, my components on Dabs will be just over €1,200 so can use the €40 off over €599 code twice by splitting the order, total postage €28.48, knocking €51.52 off in total.

Where do you put the VAT number into Scan? Got as far as the credit card details, afraid to proceed in case it goes through as it is/
