planning permission

    May sound a little strange ,but when replacing doubleglazed windows (georgian bars inserted) can i replace them with ordinary doubleglazed windows (without the georgian bar inserts), without planning permission. House in an estate about 20 years old. Getting better spec windows in.

    Technically your meant to get planning permission but unless your selling the house there is no reason to planning permission

    there wont be a problem. (I'm speaking as an arch tech with over ten years dealing with the planning system)

    is your house Georgian? NO, so dont worry about it, it'll look better without them:)
