The Hockey Hall of Fame will be welcoming four more members in the player category this November, as the selection committee announced Tuesday that Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Adam Oates and Pavel Bure have been chosen for induction.

I think that it is an absolute crime that Brendan Shanahan did not get in this time. 656 goals. 698 assists. 1354 points. Three Stanley Cups. Olympic Gold Medal. King Clancy Award. Sorry HOF voters, but you ****ed up this time around. What did Mats Sundin win in Toronto ? It's amazing the added bonus you get for playing in Toronto. Just look at Bob Pulford.

Was really surprised not to see Shanny's name wasn't on the list, surely it's only a matter of time though. Only one left-winger has more goals in the NHL, ever. All four inductee's played in for a Canadian franchise at some point, Shanahan didn't. But thank can't really have been a factor, can it?

Quite a big day for Oates, getting the Caps job and inducted on the same day.

And you just can't argue with Sakic, the guy was a legend. Still racking up 100 point seasons into his late 30's, class act.
