Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Considering how brilliant the group stages were, there hasn't really been a decent knockout match yet. Hopefully, tomorrow's match delivers. The Germans are class.

Joke of a booking at the end. The rf has been consistently annoying throughout this tournament. Whistle happy is probably the best way to describe him.

    Fancy Portugal in et.

So every time a player asks for a peno its a yellow? :pac:
Ha no, but if you dive for it then yes.

He clearly tried to con the referee into giving a penalty, therefor he deserved a yellow.

Don't give a shíte about Ronaldo either way, so don't paint me as a Ronaldo hater.

Its fairly clear cut that he deserved a yellow.

Germany v Greece was a great match. The only one of the knockouts for sure but it was a good watch.

I really liked Alba before this game. Good player but does far too much play acting. He will fit in with Busquets and co. well at Barcelona.

    I'm enjoying this, compelling game.

The last two Extra Time's I've watched have been ****e, neither team wanting to win it

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with that but I think Portugals pace will catch Spain out in the next half hour.

Y should ronaldo be on a yellow ??
The Dive that Busquets got a deserved yellow for, or that tackle from behind 2 minuts ago, that Alves got a yellow just after.

The dive would have been fine if he just fell, but he turned straight away to the ref and started shouting for a penalty. Should have got a yellow.

He didn't dive though he clearly lost his footing, moaning to the ref for a penalty is not a booking offence as is calling offside or sticking your hand up for a throw.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,256 ✭✭✭closeline

Think it could go to penalties and Spain will get lucky.

Ha Ramos catching his head there when Moutinho's foot was no where near it.

Loads of diving and rolling around on the ground in a Spain and Portugal match? Never!

I hope both teams lose somehow.

If he lost his footing then why was he asking for a Penalty?

He saw the ball going out of play and threw himself down.

Anyway, he didn't get the yellow so thats that, im just saying that suggestions that the referee is biased in some way are rediculous.

He like most Refs has made bad calls against both sides.

Great tackle from Moutinho. Ref is mental.

Jesus, both the ref and the game has gotten progressively worse since the opening 20.

I'm easy enough, probably Portugal but a Spain, Germany final is probably the better fixture

Hope Spain go out you never see them involved in a good game have become very predictable (yet still brilliant) for me if you can ever have too much of a good thing Spain are it

Players know throws, corners and kick outs to name but a few are not theirs but they still shout for it, if your not in you can't win mentality.

At the end of the day it was not a dive he had lost his balance well before going
Down and in no way did he "THROW" himself to the ground

Never a yellow, but the refs not been biased

Making sure if he didnt get the foul, the referee would have to stop for a head injury ;)

Yeah imagine committing fully to a header to clear your lines.

Why do players constantly kick the ball out of play when an opposition player goes down "injured"?

The one time they don't and a player is actually in bits there would be all sorts of sh*te talk about there being no integrity in the game anymore.

Yeah, jumping in with your forearm out like into your opponents face is vital when you're heading a ball

How has Nelson Oliveira played? I keep reading about him on twitter and other places, but he was terrible in 10/11 when I watched him play with Pacos Ferreira.
