Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Leather jacket alteration

So I'm back in Ireland prematurely with my broken collarbone and shattered shoulder blade  I came home to a new Richa Highlander jacket behind before I left last year. YAY! And while I was away, I lost a stone or two. YAY!! Now I'm home and the jacket don't fit. BOO! In truth, it had been a little loose when I first bought it.

Below is the jacket in question. I've had it on done deal but had no interest. Can I have it altered instead, I wonder? In fact, it would probably suit me being thin and lanky, where I always find that if the body fits, the arms are far too short. Of course, the big concern is if it will be as safe? I've found a... errr... 'leather specialist' who claims to have done bike jackets before. He told me bring it in for a look see.

    Any thoughts?

I crashed a bike! I was touring on an Enfield in Nepal. We hit a rock in the middle of the road when a car coming against us blinded us. We fell off and I landed on my right shoulder and my mate landed on me. Badly broken collar bone and shattered shoulder blade. My mate had a small scratch on one hand (despite not wearing a helmet). For lots of reasons, it took 16 days to get to the right help. I had to give up my travels after the surgery to come home and recuperate.

    Oops. Back in Cork, boi.

I actually brought the jacket to a guy down here. Barry's on North Main St and apparently, he's the guy bikers have been using for years for repairs. He wasn't phased about it and said it would be an easy job.

    Let's see...
