Hi,

Just wondering if you think this dress as worn by Kate Middleton would be suitable for a wedding I have coming up in a few weeks or would it be playing it a bit too safe.

I was thinking of accessorizing similar. I'd be similar height/build (I have a little more weight size 8-10)

It's a lovely dress - Kate is a throwback to a more glamourous age. Yes, her style is somewhat conservative, but then again she is a member of the Royal Family. She manages to dress demurely, but always fashionably.

I think it'd be great for a wedding.

It's a fab dress.

On the colour though - would you be wearing the colour Kate wore? Or the cream/white colour? I wouldn't wear the cream/white colour to a wedding, unless you know the bride well and know she wouldn't take offence to you wearing white.

I'd wear the Camel colour that Kate wore agree completely about the cream/white being the wrong colour for a wedding.

I know it's a bit conservative I don't want to look dowdy but I want it to be a bit conservative for the church.

The dress isn't dowdy at all, in my opinion at least.

If you're worried about that dress, then what about any of these? Or would you prefer to stick to the Shola dress?

You could add a cardigan/jacket over any of the dresses if you wanted, which would make it safer for the church.

Its definitely suitable for a wedding, but i do think its "too safe" sorry. It's very bland and boring. The lovelymuffin posted some gorgeous dresses though. The red LK Bennett one is fab!!

its a little boring, but better that you feel comfortable really. you'll look far better on the day if you feel your best, so as long as its appropriate, which it is, then I think you'll be fine


if you did choose a different colour though and same style you'd prob have the perfect balance

I had planned on wearing a lovely maxi dress I seen in a shop then they didn't have my size so i'm kinda thrown on what to wear!

I'm thinking maybe dress is a bit bland and i'd have to order it online and I like trying things on. Want to buy dress this weekend to have it sorted and put it outta my mind.

Would this dress be better? Opinions please

The first Reiss dress that The Lovely Muffin posted or the Second Coast dress in the last post would be my choices. The other dresses are very safe - too safe for a wedding & are more like dresses I'd wear for work - but obviously that's just my opinion. Go for a bit of glamour!

That second dress (blue dress) is just fab!

The first dress is more like a formal work dress, sorry OP!

Love the both of them. If you're going for longevity, you'd get more wear out of the blue i think, but the lemon is very pretty and summery and would be my first choice. Cant go wrong with either imho and both are much nicer than your first post.
