Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Bonucci looked very guilty there

Last time Spain threw away 2 goal lead?

    1994 WC vs Sth Korea.

50-1 doesn't look like attractive odds really.

They were two up against Scotland last year at Hampden and Scotland came back to level it. Spain won out 3-2 in the end with a late winner!

By the time the next Euros roll around Spain may not have had to play a qualifier in 6 years.

No. Ireland should be trying to fix the problems that led to that disaster.

Remember - just like the last euros we got to the finalists came from our group. Difference is, we had real, real quality in 88. Now we have a Championship - level team.

    i am being sarcastic.

I have previously said Ireland have had great players before.

Unlucky, some beautiful passing again from the Spanish.

I thought winners aren't automatic qualifiers anymore, or is that just the world cup?

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure both the Euros and World Cup winners still have to qualify.

In fact they do. Spain were in Scotlands group for this tournament and Italy were in our group for the 2010 World Cup

That sub by Italy made no sense...

A goal for Italy would make for an exciting last half hour.

Fcuk sake - game over :(

Busquets didn't even have to act to get rid of Motta this time.

May as well let him stand in the centre circle. If nothing else the Spanish might have to run aroudn him a couple of times and get slowed down.

It was the wrong sub anyway! Why bring on Motta and not a more attacking player like Diamanti or Giovinco?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 792 ✭✭✭sob1467

Spain could really put this game to bed now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,397 ✭✭✭Paparazzo

That was the worst thing that could happen in this game for the neutral. Unlucky for italy

They're tucking the game in, fluffing up its pillows and reading it a bedtime story as we speak.

Could have been a peno for Italy there.

Should have been, but in fairness, spain had a stone wall peno not given not long before so Italy couldn't complain.

By far the best referee in the game today .

De Rossi looks like he has no right hand with that bandage.

Italy look mentally beaten at this point.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,397 ✭✭✭Paparazzo

Italy look like they've given up since Motta went off. Their best spell was before he went off, now the game is really slowing down.

Looks like Spain will be getting another star on their Shirt next time out.

Anyone know why Italy don't play with a star?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,890 ✭✭✭✭klose

I wonder what Casillas is doing, must be almost boring for him to play for Spain :pac:

Stars are only for the WC...think Italy should have the stars, maybe as part of the crest rather than over them like Spain

Only World Cup teams get stars don't they?

Italy are normally too stylish for tacky stars!

I don't like those Spanish faces on the replays. They could do much better than a disgruntled journey man routine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,555 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Spain have done a great job in eliminating Pirlo tonight. He's hardly had a sniff.
