No way I was missing out on today given the wet forecast for the next week or so. Teed off an Knightsbrook at 8 and Mullingar at 3, no rain, the morning was the better of the weather

Fuzzy start at the first in Knightsbrook


Then it got lovely and sunny with some nice heat






Bit murkier in Mullingar but no rain is all that mattered

Nice one keep'em coming, that first photo gives a good impression of elevation and of US open style rough and narrow fairways, gotta say I love the way the two opens are setup, far superior and truer tests of golf than the other two majors.

Might be a necessary evil for the pro's but the narrow fairways completely compromise the strategy, look and integrity of the course. I presume and hope they will return the fairways to their proper width after the event.

Played Waterville at the weekend in the open week. My favourite course.

Here's a snap I took on the 17th tee-box.

Sums up the mixed bag of weather that we had.
