Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That looks immaculate Boskowski, smashing looking Green.

There were a couple of hick ups with the greens in recent years but definitely turned a corner and on the road to top class. Hosting the Irish close later this year and there shouldn't be any complaints. I live two minutes away from it and what a facility to have on your doorstep. Now if only my golf would match the quality of the course...

Just a quick shot from Rathcore this afternoon, a really nice course, very enjoyable to play, plenty of short par 4's that make you think as great use of water

Scary looking tee shot. There's no way I would take on that line over the edge of the hotel. More like try take it over the rough on the left and pray I make it to the other fairway.

I wonder how many windows get smashed a year playing there.

I remember years back playing my local and a thinned a shot into the car park and dented a brand new BMW of club member.

    I'd smash a window here ;)

I saw somewhere the other day (I am poulter May have said it on periscope) that they have bullet proof glass installed to all the windows parallel to the 17th

Played there the last two years, the tees we used are about 40 yards ahead of the pros in the photo.

The line you take it over the letter O in the word Hotel. Left is all safe, but rough and no chance of getting to the green really. Straight over the letter O or with a slight fade and you are right in the middle of the fairway.

    Really missing this today :(

10th green looking back towards tee
    356366.jpg

12th tee. Marriott Hotel car park is behind those screens.

15th tee, this is in the links style back 9 of the course. The front 9 being more parkland.

A rather tough Saturday golf quiz... here are three photos of Irish golf courses taken this week. I'll give a sleeve of Bridgestone balls to anyone who gets all three correct.

[Hint: some of cheapest green fees around. €20 max]

    3) Carne

First one is looking across the 7th/16th greens and 17th tee at shannon?

    Second one - deerpark?

    Third one - Enniscrone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭bailey99

1st is shannon. 3rd is the European club. 2nd is it the 13th in West Waterford?

    1. Galway
    2. Athy
    3. Carne

    1 & 3 are guesses but the 2nd is definitely Athy 11th hole par 3 ;)

    I wish!
$500 a pop when you count in the caddies, etc.

Was just herself with me, and couldn't justify that price to play by myself.

I'll be back over that direction next year, and am going to play it then with a friend who lives in Milwaukee.

Yeah, no simple flick onto level green, 5th shot was from the bunker where I just managed to get out, waaaay below level of flag and bunker was the collection area...

Played Slieve Russel yesterday and agree, so far the best course I've played. Really well laid out with no real weak holes

Played at The Island on Tuesday, Course in superb condition, but helps that we got a sun-drenched day. Took a few photos - this is my favourite. Not only because it's such a remarkable hole (narrowest fairway in Ireland, and the tee box is on the foundations of the old clubhouse) but the green really stands out as the foreground is all in shadow

Ha ha, it was actually a dead chip on the par 3, came up way short, photo was from that par 3 green looking towards the next fairway...

The 10th (2nd pic) is some hole, doesn't look as intimidating in the pic but a short iron from the fairway into a green way below you that's almost 80% surrounded by water (little or no fringe?) leads to a nervy shot.
