Played Slieve Russel yesterday and agree, so far the best course I've played. Really well laid out with no real weak holes

Played at The Island on Tuesday, Course in superb condition, but helps that we got a sun-drenched day. Took a few photos - this is my favourite. Not only because it's such a remarkable hole (narrowest fairway in Ireland, and the tee box is on the foundations of the old clubhouse) but the green really stands out as the foreground is all in shadow

Go on, admit it... you ran on there and put the ball by the pin... or was that just your 4th putt

Ha ha, it was actually a dead chip on the par 3, came up way short, photo was from that par 3 green looking towards the next fairway...

The 10th (2nd pic) is some hole, doesn't look as intimidating in the pic but a short iron from the fairway into a green way below you that's almost 80% surrounded by water (little or no fringe?) leads to a nervy shot.

I could never understand why they had the course laid out differently for the Pro tournaments and then when you rolled up to play it, the only 2 holes that were actually the numbers you thought they would be were 9 & 18. Much better now that they changed it so when you play the Ryder Cup course.... you actually play the Ryder Cup course.

    Class pic :)

How I would love to say he got it out at the first attempt... but he didn't!

Put it this way, I could have taken six putts on the green and still won the hole.

Yep, just asking for trouble. Alness is a short course all round (6 par threes, 1 par five), so a Driver's a liability.
