cresote substitute smell?

    Does the cresote substitute have a smell like cresote. I googled, some say it does but not as strong, some say it doesn't

    If you're talking about Protim then yes it does smell for a while. It's definitely not as strong as creosote but it will fade when it dries. What are you using it for?

    I used Creocrote and I didn't find the smell that strong..

    it is for a friend who wants to paint a fence hoping the smell will keep kids off it
