10.10am flight to Brizzle canceled now also. Bedlam shall ensue. It's beginning to look like there will be a good number of unused tickets this weekend.

That's a shame. :( Hopefully most of our folks get over there safely.

Hopefully AL and RA will put extra capacity on their flights in the morning.

Looking like conditions might not be great for running in four tries.

Most of our tries against Scarlets came from the forwards rumbling through from close in, so I wouldn't lose hope. The chances of running up a cricket score and seeing if Munster can match it are receding though.

Actually, will the team be able to get over there? RESCHEDULE IT FOR 3PM SUNDAY!

Conditions sound reasonable at the ground; statement from Exeter:
Despite the wintry conditions being felt across much of the United Kingdom currently, Exeter Chiefs have no immediate concerns with regards to tomorrow’s Heineken Cup clash with Leinster taking place.
There has been slight snowfall in the area, but head groundsman Adrian Whitton says conditions are not expected to worsen and the game, which is due to kick-off at 6pm, will go ahead as planned.

Sorry to ruin your buzz, but Dublin airport fully operational at the moment. I dont know where they are flying to. Bristol maybe?

The lads will likely fly directly into Exeter airport, which is unaffected AFAIK.

Dublin airport is fine though. It's Bristol that's the problem. Both flights out this morning have been cancelled so far...

    Update from the Chiefs chairman:

"Despite the wintry conditions being felt across much of the United Kingdom currently, Exeter Chiefs have no immediate concerns with regards to tomorrow’s Heineken Cup clash with Leinster taking place.

There has been slight snowfall in the area, but head groundsman Adrian Whitton says conditions are not expected to worsen and the game, which is due to kick-off at 6pm, will go ahead as planned.

Any updates to the situation will be posted here on the club website and our various social media sites. There is no need to contact the club office in relation to this matter."

I'm on the 08.00 Ryanair flight in the morning, so not particularly worried atm.

Ditto, I'd be more worried about the numbers who make it over now tbh.

There were a good few supposed to go today alright, but the majority are heading over tomorrow, by the looks of the various threads on the fansite. Hopefully Aer Lingus and Ryanair will do their utmost to get anyone who was going today over in the morning instead.

There seemed to be a good few ex-pats driving/railing it down from various parts of the UK, I think they're going to be the worst affected, tbh.

Best possible lineup IMO . Although you could argue for boss and Cronin on form.

hmmmm interesting to see if BOD is actually fit as he clearly wasn't last week.

Feel a bit for McFadden after playing so well all season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

I wonder if the delay is because the site is having issues or because their trying to wild BOD's ankles back to together.

The irfu, Leinster and Munster have all tweeted about the website being down. All on the one server I reckon.

Luke or BOD off at 65 for the angriest McFadden on the planet.

Can see him joining every ruck like a prop forward and burrowing over for at least one.

    Surprised to see Strauss starting!

Cronin had being going well and Strauss will be straight back into it after his injury.

Yep on bench - I've updated my post with the bench details.

Ruddock is the second row replacement...

Serious game-changing potential on that bench. Hard on Cronin to be demoted for the most important game of the season, ditto Jennings and Boss, but it finally looks like we're back to full strength.

    Exeter:

15-9 Luke Arscott, Ian Whitten, Sireli Naqelevuki, Jason Shoemark, Matt Jess, Gareth Steenson, Kevin Barrett
1-8 Ben Moon, Neil Clark, Hoani Tui, Tom Hayes (capt), Dean Mumm, Tom Johnson, James Scaysbrook, Richard Baxter

    16 Jack Yeandle
    17 Carl Rimmer
    18 Craig Mitchell
    19 James Hanks
    20 Ben White
    21 Will Chudley
    22 Ignacio Mieres
    23 Nic Sestaret

Team news for the Chiefs sees Baxter make two changes in his back division where injuries rule out both Phil Dollman and Gonzalo Camacho. Into the side come Sireli Naqelevuki and Ian Whitten (pictured); whilst in the pack Aussie international Dean Mumm is given the nod over James Hanks in the second row. On the bench, there are recalls also for flanker Ben White and utility back Nic Sestaret.

Would much rather have seen Boss starting, strange one that. Hopefully they won't be afraid to spring Madigan sooner than last week if we need tries

no specific lock replacement for ourselves?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,166 ✭✭✭✭Zzippy

Second row the only weak link in that XV, otherwise a great team. Cronin and McFadden can feel hard done by, but they should make serious impact when they come on...

Yeah it's an odd call. But then Denton hasn't set the world on fire, not sure if Browne is fit and if we're chasing tries in the second half, no harm in having an extra back-row on the pitch.

That was my thinking. What use is Browne/Denton on the bench if we're chasing tries? Ruddock/McLaughlin could do a serviceable job there if needed, allowing us to have 4 back row players on the pitch.

And if we need a browne type to close out the game/steady the scrum we're probably out of it anyway.

    understatement.

    Professor Feet Hands

Loved his enthusiasm when he touched down out-of-play earlier in the season though. Thought he'd scored

Would have preferred Boss to start. Thought he was great last week while Reddan had a poor game.

Knowing that Reddan will probably have a stormer tomorrow.

Biarritz losing is another moderately good result for Leinster.
