Will your luggage be over the weight allowance?

It all depends on who you are flying with and what their sporting goods allowance is.

For example, Qatar airlines allow you 10kg for sporting goods free.

Emirates appear to allow you to carry a set of golf club free in addition to your 30kg economy allowance which seems very generous

Are there additional baggage allowances for golfing equipment? (routes not including the USA, Canada, Brazil or Argentina)In addition to normal checked baggage allowances, one set of golf clubs and one pair of golf shoes may be carried free of charge per passenger in any class of service on any Emirates flight.
If your journey involves interline travel (i.e. it includes flights with another airline), your golfing equipment will travel free on the Emirates sector(s), while charges may apply on the other airlines' sector(s).
Passengers who carry a second set of golf equipment will be charged normal excess baggage charges, if it exceeds the baggage allowance.

Singapore airlines appear to charge you 6kg excess baggage for golf clubs weighing up to 15kg - that charge is a hefty $60USD per kg:eek:

So if you havent booked your flights yet, it pays to read the sporting goods allowances as it might make a cheap flight seem expensive.

Also make sure you give the clubs a really good clean as they will be inspect at quarantine when you enter Australia.
