Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Labour declares war on Irish workers

Labour have made a thinly veiled stab at employers and employees across the country this week while vigorously defending the culture of entitlement that is slowly eroding the work ethic and social cohesion of our state.

The Labour party is the head of the serpent that is social welfare, it uses the money it takes from hard working Irishmen to trap the ignorant and uneducated in economic and social purgatory. Just as the legionella bacteria flourishes in stagnant water a new poisonous social class is born in this economic and social stagnation – the underclass. Almost ubiquitous in Britain, the underclass takes and detracts from everything yet gives nothing in return other than chav culture, murderous riots and champions for the leftist media.

Fortunately today, in Ireland, we can still block the path to self destruction for a large section of our population. Unfortunately the medicine is not a sweet one, the only way to avoid this fate is to make life on social welfare completely untenable. This means severe cuts in social welfare, pushing job-bridge, cuts in employers PRSI, making it easier to hire and fire employees.

These fiscal measures may seem cold hearted, cruel even but these crude economic strategy’s belie the intelligent, responsible social engineering that motivate them. Our economy will improve, house prices will climb, and the dole queue will shrink with or without these measures. Without them, however, people will fall foul of the deception practised by Labour, generation after generation will become dependent on the state for every meal, every schoolbook, every bus journey. The Labour party successfully subverted and tainted British society throughout that last two decades. Don't let them do the same here.

There should be a minimum level of support to those who have fallen on hard times. However, given the struggle that SMEs are having at present, and that social welfare levels have remained relatively static whilst working wages have been hit by tax increases (direct and indirect as in pensions) her claim that " benefits that are paid far exceed the contributions" would need some fairly solid stats to back them up.

Why should people on welfare be protected? Everyone should get shafted. Now lets all turn on each other.

Social welfare is protection for those who fall on hard financial times,ie lose their job,get fired or layed off have to go on retirement..

Its not just simple to cut welfare, its already been cut..

It looks more like a rant about how you feel about people on welfare..
This means severe cuts in social welfare, pushing job-bridge, cuts in employers PRSI, making it easier to hire and fire employees.

Pushing job bridge?Job bridge is the reason there is so much unemployment, they actually take away what could have been a paid job advertised.

Although i agree and think that there are those who are sponging off of welfare,ie working and drawing the dole, that of course needs to stop.

Actually if you take the time to read my post you will notice that I do not blame them for the current economic crisis.

Your lack of basic comprehension skills, coupled with your knee jerk banker/government comment would lead me to believe that your post is idiotic. Furthermore, your inability to use capitals raises serious questions about your level of education and literacy.

Social welfare payments are like an economic lifeboat to most people and are essential in most modern democracies because we have adopted a cash intensive way of life for even basic essentials like food shelter and clothing.
100 yrs ago most people made their own food shelter and clothing by subsistance farming, hunting etc and were allowed to do so. In a typical country 80% of the people lived like this, if they couldn't get a job they made what they needed, built their own houses etc without interference or regulation from a state.

Today so many demands are made on individuals and families that any family group are only weeks away from real hardship on the loss of their job. Town planners prefer to have some people homeless rather than let them build their own homes or use caravans on the side of the road which are at least marginally better than a cardboard box on our city streets.....

Standards insisted on for childcare are now so high that most people on modest incomes find it hard to keep up....those on the dole must find it impossible.

People are not encouraged to grow their own veg or rear their own poultry etc which was the original intention of the large plots on which the early 1950's council houses were built.

The government should, for example, examine the high cost of school books the copyright of which should be owned by the state, the writing of which could be done by the teachers during the "holidays" they get during the summer. ( It should be noted that technical grade workers in IT's have to work a full 48 week year....only lecturers get the long holidays). All state workers should be forced to work a full 48 week year engaging in such activity rather than let privately own school book publishers profiteer like they do. Multiple editions of books for no good reason are done to discourage the second hand book trade or hand downs all of which could save money.

If the state provided payment in kind, food and shelter and clothing directly to those in need it might discourage mispending money on drink, gambling drugs etc which happens with some of the SW payments now.

To cut costs a generic school uniform for all schools should be introduced at national level and sold through the cheapest outlets.

A basic level of food and household items should be available exclusively to SW recipients at low cost VAT free if possible to cut costs.

Your nonsense is not worthy of capital's. My education & literacy are none of your business.
You do not blame them but you do insist that they who have very little should get the same cuts as those with jobs. You obviously have not been living in the real world. As another poster stated lets all turn on each other. Get real and look for real solutions not envy thy neighbour horse****.

Your inability to reply to someone in a mature and polite manner raises serious questions about your skills of debate and rhetoric and, I dare say, you age . . .

    MOD NOTE:

The OP is little more than a rant and the thread has, aided by the OP's uncivil response to another poster, predictably descended to a snipe-fest. Rather than having to infract multiple irate posters, why don't we just end this here.

In the future, please report abusive posts and/or suspected trolling rather than responding to it on thread. There is no point in rolling around in the mud with a hog; the hog will enjoy it, and you will only end up getting your clothes dirty.
