Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Malaga havent lost a home game for 3 years??? ^^^^^^^^

    even in La Liga?

3 years without loss in European matches, sorry, forgot to mention that. That happens, if you try to do 125 things at the same time

(Information according to Radio 91.2, btw)

I think (based on wiki) the 'three years' might be referring to their combined Euro record of three seasons (2002, 2002-03, 2012-13) in which they have yet to lose a tie outright to anyone. (they lost a UEFA Cup QF to Boavista after pens). Just a guess though.

In that case they should be claiming themselves as unbeaten at home since 2002 :D

But I think, it was the away leg, where they lost on penos, was it?

Anyway, every series comes to an end...sometimes

Ronaldo delivers. Should be a few goals in this one.

Gala picked a side that will cause Madrid some problems at the back but are going to leave themselves open for the counter if they stick with it.

    That's awful defending.

Great cross by Essien. Caused so many problems for the defenders.

I hope Gala don't let the heads drop. If they tighten up and get an away goal 2-1 would be a great result after this start.

Melo seemed to be booked there for indicating that Ozil should be booked. Hopefully that was the case. Referees need to book players for trying to tell them how to do their job, it's the only way players will show some respect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

    More bad defending

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

That was a bull**** free kick that led to the goal. Should have gone the other way.

Still a fair reflection on RMs dominance

Looked like a nice deliberate attempt to get a yellow there by Ramos :pac:

look at Alonso he wanted the yellow card for himself.

seems alonso did pick up a yellow card and will miss the return leg.

Ha ha, brilliant. He was definitely after it. He kicked the ball away before a Gala free kick that wasn't spotted and towards the end he was getting stuck in all the tackles.

Really enjoying watching madrid this year, i cant pick which one of them, barca or munich will lift the trophy but should make for some cracking semis and final.

Varrane is stupidly good at 19 for a centre half

Would be fine if he was consistent, but he was a joke.
Madrid players got away with doing this during the game.
Then for the Galatasary penalty he awards a free out and books the player, making their top scorer ineligible for the second leg.
Don't get me wrong, the better team won, but you wouldn't want him doing the final.
Also, was it just me but did Altintop look like he was "doing a Longford"? I have never seen a player give the ball away so easily and so often. Dunno why he wasn't subbed off sooner.

Ref was a complete homer ,probably had a Real Madrid jersey on under his other one.
Thats 2 games in a row that Real have been handed victory by a referee.

Pretty standard win for Real, despite some weird decisions.

Respect for the Turks though, massive support and they never gave up.
Should be some atmosphere in Istanbul, despite the result.

Barca have officially complained about the ref from the psg game.

Which is hilarious considering the amount of harassing they give refs.

RM were by far the better team and won quite comfortably.

Intelligent from Alonso, no doubt Jose telling him to go get a card so he's got a clean slate for the Semi instead of missing the 2nd leg of that or even the final if they reach it.

Wouldn't rule out Dortmund just yet! Some serious ballers on that team. And some people seem to think Juve still in with a shout, personally think Bayern have done just about enough. If they had only won 1-0 different story.

Tbf though I think Barca should look at the way they performed, and what they can improve. If Sanchez could finish the game could have ended 4-2 to Barca given the Sanchez he squandered. Messi or Villa would have buried the chances he was gifted :/

They do have a case though, two players had a freak collision and play wasn't stopped.

Exactly and as the video above shows the equalizer was well, well off side.

Celtic wrote a complaint to UEFA over the refereeing against Juventus, heard nothing back. Barcelona are wasting their time

Maybe they should concentrate more on playing football rather than surrounding the ref every time a decision goes against them.

The offside though is an error. It's quite clear from the game the referee's knew what an offside was - it was just a mistake and officiating the offside rule is a nightmare at the best of times. (The sooner UEFA or FIFA bring in ref cam the better.) Two players were down injured (one of which is going to miss six weeks minimum) and play wasn't stopped.

Was over in Madrid on hols for the last 4 days, by god if there was a set of fans pumped up more for a match than the Turks I would love to see them ! Yesterday was like a morgue in the square though.
