Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Alex should surely be taking the free kicks at that range.

Well deserved, Messi creating havoc and a great finish by Pedrito.

Yes! Goal! Messi! Villa! Pedro! Hail the greatest team ever.

Now they praise Messi. Why? That was sloppy defending, imo

Wonderful goal. The difference in the rest of the players since Messi came on is something else.

Yes! Goal! Messi! Villa! Pedro! Hail the greatest team ever.

    Here he is :pac:

An injured Messi is better than half the PSG team. What an impact even though he is only 70/75% fit.

And the Barcelona team it would seem.

Lavezzi has been brutal tonight. Played well in the first 5 minutes in the first leg and has done nothing since. PSG need to make a sub. It's getting away from them now.

    1/3 of the Barca team.

Lavezzi subbed off with 9 passes and 36% accuracy, he has been awful!

How good has Jordi Alba been tonight? Best left back in the world IMO.

Out of the top clubs in the CL he probably is, which consequently means he may be the best in the world.

Tonight shows that barcelona are a one man team and far from the greatest team ever.

Refusing to accept Lavezzi's apology and then resuming to roll around in 'pain' was something I've come to expect about these Barca boys.

    Great ability but pathetic attitude.

He's not stood out. Over the two legs he's done ok.

Then again you're not being serious. At least I hope not.

Barca were terrible tonight until Messi came on.

Tonight shows that barcelona are a one man team and far from the greatest team ever.

But Barca don't claim not to be a one man team. The plan was always to build the team around Messi since he is the greatest there has ever been. Everything Barca have been the past few years has been built around Messi.

But the term 'one man team' in the context of 11-a-side football is ironic, and you claiming such a thing makes me chuckle.

Psg shouldnt have loaned out momo sissoko, he was class for us the night we knocked out barca in 07. Tackled ronaldinho so much he had to be subbed :pac:

I think the 4 best teams in the competition this year made the semis, and 4 very good footballing, attacking teams at that. Barcelona don't look like half the team they were a couple of years ago, which is saying something since they're still a VERY good team.

    Football is coming home. Again.

    I despise Alba, horrible attitude.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,139 ✭✭✭Red Crow

Alba is a bit of a disgrace isn't he. Not impressed with that Barca display either. This isn't the same side of a few years ago. They aren't as strong. Without Messi they were very weak and lacked any real ideas. It shows poor management and a lack of a plan. As soon as Messi came on they looked fresh and tried to move the ball his way and that's how they got the goal. That's two fairly poor displays from Barca against Milan in the San Siro and PSG. PSG probably should have won that too.

Barca need to get a CB. Piqué isn't up to a whole lot. They could win the CL because of Messi but Munich are my favourites now after seeing another poor display.

Psg should have put barca away in the first half tbf had a good few opportunities. Lavezzi the main culprit, he was awful. Really fancy munich to win it

Yep, they've been very inconsistent this year in comparison to others. At one stage they had an 'unbeatable' feel to them for 95% of their games. Not near as much anymore. They seem to have regressed a lot defensively, Pique, Puyol and Alves in particular. Abidal also made a fairly big difference at the back, especially while defending set pieces.

Veratti proving why he was right to be disappointed after the first leg. Should have started that game. Classy performance yet again from him.

Dunno about that. Dortmund were fairly poor last night and Real Madrid barely scraped past us. Barca could of been beaten by PSG. Bayern Munich are the only side that I've been really impressed with (bar Arsenal at home).
