Has anyone ever used Hullomail on Meteor (bill-pay)? Or tried to forward to any 076 number? 076 is the area code used for non-geographic numbers

Forwarded calls get the message "You are restricted from this service". The number works fine when it's called directly, and forwarding it to any non-076 numbers is also fine. It's not a problem with the number either, as forwarding to it on a three sim works.

Weeks of emails with Meteor customer care have been less than helpful. Could someone on Meteor billpay try setting their call-forwarding to this number: +353761075040, then call themselves? It's just the Blanchardstown Citizens Information Centre line. If it rings at all you can just hang up

That ain't going to work, you can forward to any geographic number/HPLMN, but 076/VOIP and International numbers with Meteor, no.

Do you have a source for this? 11 emails with customer care, and repeated escalations to the technical team, and they haven't been able to give a straight answer.

I dont exactly have a source, but I can tell you that is set as default for all customers on their HLR.

I dont know why exactly, the setting itself says 'Forwarding Only within HPLMN' - Home Public Land Mobile Network.

076 numbers as you pointed out are Non geographic, so outside of this category, 076 is classified as a National Number with meteor, even if you have unlimited landline calls, 076 are outside of this as the charge is higher, also so is 1818/1850 etc, I presume this is prevent people forwarding calls to a number that costs more than a basic call.

in saying that, if i could forward all my calls to a 1818 number that costs 50c a minute, and someone calls me, they incur the 50c charge without knowing, they just think they are calling my mobile.

So I reckon for that reason you can't.

Actually found the source on the Meteor Website: http://www.meteor.ie/bill-pay/other-charges/

076 Numbers (Voice over IP numbers)
Charged at the per minute rate appropriate to your price plan, for national calls to Irish landlines (does not avail of inclusive minutes)

er no. You incur the cost of calling the 1818 number, not the person calling you.

You can probably forward to a geographic VOIP number.

That's what I would have thought. It works fine on the 3 network, but Meteor are insisting that "there are no issues on the Meteor network that are preventing you from using this"

I have my unanswered/busy calls on 3 forwarding to a blueface 076 number which is forwarded to my blueface voicemail which then emails me my voice mail for free! :D
