Disney characters license/copywrite

Recently found a 'friend' page on facebook (cant remember the name and can't find it again) They were advertising Disney characters printed on canvas, made to order with kids names on them and you had to order via email (no website).
Just wondering if this sounds legit?
I would imagine you cant just start printing off and selling disney characters without a license and then I'd imagine that they would be picky about who they associated their products with. Anyone have any info on this or whats involved?

As far as i know you need a licence for anything disney related. I know with simpsons they are very strict and you can not use anything simpson related without a licence from the company so i would presume it is the exact same for disney.

Disney and most big brands charge license fees for reproduction and usage of their marks including characters etc.,

So unless the company is paying a license fee it's a court case waiting to happen

Here's the link. Looks like it's only open to manufacturers. No middlemen allowed. The UK office looks after Ireland.
