Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thiago Alcantara ruled out of Olympics after failing to recover from tibia injury.

Gutted for the chap. Thought he'd get a place in the Euro's to prove himself but it wasn't to be. Next season I am expecting big things from this guy. ;)

will the Olympic football be televised? sorry to be off topic

Eurosport usually show the final and the odd game. I would imagine that as Britain are in the Finals for the first time in yonks that their games will be on the BBC.

The spain and brazil squad is amazing, and I hear the uraguay team is pretty good too. Hopefully some of the games will be on tv so, world class stuff on show should be good. GBs squad in comparrison is pretty bad, was the 18 man squad the best available?

Jordi Alba showed how good he was in the Euros and will do the same for Barca in many years to come. Best left back in this summers tournament.

Coentrao was the best left back at the Euros. Alba is a good player alright but as has been said before he's a winger playing left back.

Isco is meant to be very good. Anyone seen him play?

Never heard of any of the strikers mind.

Still at Benfica. Played for VSC last year. After his initial loan to Penarol, which he played some good stuff, he was loaned to Deportivo and had some ligament troubles and never got going.

Going forward, I don't think Benfica plan to keep him.

Your opinion of course, mine is that both are very attacking left backs, and that Alba was slightly better at the Euro's, he was immense once it came to the knock out phases. Were as come of Contrao's better moments were in the group stage!
