Backpack needed

I'm after a small-ish backpack to wear when running. It won't have to carry loads of stuff, maybe just a towel and keys, phone, wallet etc.

Any recommendations?

If its for work your better leaving a towel there. Will be needing it to run and from work. The locker at work is very small so there's not really enough space to leave the towel hanging up to dry throughout the day/night so I'd probably have to bring it home with me, and whatever t-shirt I'm wearing that day.

The innov8 race pro bags are excellent. They come in various sizes. i.e race pro 12, race pro 22, 18 etc. Plenty of online reviews.

Race pro 12 is smallest. Think basecamp on middle abbey st stock them.

I've the 18 and it's fantastic.

These bags are really well made. 10l is the size that you are looking for. I have this one - it's really well made and stays close to you back so no crap moving around.

Would any of those bags hold a towel? The lockers at work are very small and are not big enough for me to hang up a towel to let it dry and there's leaving it hanging in the room where the showers are isn't really an option. So I'd probably need to bring it home with me in the evenings.

Probably wouldn't hold a bath sheet sized towel - literally holds change of clothes, phone, wallet and keys. They have bigger versions too.

I presume you won't be running in every day, so you could bring a fresh towel in other days?
Or get a microfibre towel - they pack tighter and dry faster than cotton.

I have an Inov-8 IROC elite 15. I use it to run to work. It fits a towel, lunchbox, shirt etc.

It has nice side pockets for keys, money etc.

I find it very neat and easy to run it.

You’d get a towel in it, bit of a squeeze. I’d recommend getting those micro fibre towels. They’re excellent and take up little room. Plus they won’t stink.

Penneys are doing microfibre towels in a pouch for €3. I've never used an "proper" one so I've nothing to compare it to but it does the job ok albeit not quite as nicely as a cotton towel.

I have one of these since 2005 when I was doing the round the world thing.
Its lasted the distance, works well & dries really quickly.
Once you get used to the initial weirdness of the non-cotton towel feel, it's all good.:D

They sell these ones in Base2Race. They are very comfortable and plenty of room for a change of clothes, towel etc.
I picked up one a few months ago and use it for plenty of runs into/out from work.

Just revisiting this thread. I haven't bought a backpack yet but my requirements might be changing a bit. Are any of these backpacks waterproof? So basically if I'm out in the rain, will my stuff stay dry? Also, it doesn't necessarily need to be something that I can use when running.

What size is that roughly? I'd need something that can hold a pair of runners, small towel, shorts and a t-shirt and perhaps one or two other things.

It's 10 litres as it says.... It will hold the stuff mentioned no issue, but not much more. Well-made bag.

My inov-8 is a 15 litre bag and I think it would be just about adequate for your needs, especially if you have a pair of runners.

I take a size 5, and runners, a towel, a t-shirt etc would fit, but if you take size 9+, 10 litres might be a bit small.

You should def. invest in a good quality micro-fibre towel.

I'm never sure about those litre bags and how much they actually hold and what size they are. I think I would need a 15 or 18 litre bag based on the reviews I was reading. My runners are between a size 9 and 10 depending on the brand I'm wearing.
