    But I thought Sheiko was a bench programme?

    Is there any reason why following the Smolov programme for bench instead of squats would be a bad idea? Or any other exercise for that matter?

    You would absolutely destroy yourself if you ran full smolov for bench or deadlift.

    Sheiko is a powerlifting program. A 3 lift program. One with many phases that follow on from each other in a planned, progressive manner.

    As for Smolov - terrible idea. Your hips and legs are very robust and capable of tremendous workloads and recovery, your itty bitty shoulders and all their supportive musculature, are not.

    Is there a specialised bench programme worth following? My squat and deadlift are ok but my bench is crap
