Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anybody see the show about Ireland on bbc 3 last night?
It was a bit strange and also insulting as an information program.
Little London girl running around talking to people and then explaining (badly) what we just heard the people say.
Some of the things in the show were very loosely connected but meant to show the results of the financial crisis.
She went to a rds show for education and careers and was going on about lack of employers. Priory hall residents are also due to the financial crisis and not bad building.marveling at people with degrees in specialist fields inability to get a job.

Very little in the way of actual investigation but lots of shock.
She apparently was pushed by the guards but it looked like somebody else was and hit her.

Saw the show and while I wasn't too impressed with the presenter's style I thought it was a good documentary. The crap we find ourselves in isn't just because of the "financial crisis" but also because of the fact that the construction sector was a disaster with houses thrown up any old way and in the middle of nowhere so it was absolutely right for Priory Hall to be included in the programme. I was embarrased to be Irish watching it and especially for other countries to see how the PH residents have been treated. The presenter was right to be shocked, this country is a **** hole.

I don't think it was meant to be a definitive an in-depth look at the cause of the Irish economic problem but more of a look in at how the crisis has effected the social aspects of Irish life.

It may have lacked a bit of focus, but it was a decent enough programme. And the presenter was cute, which always helps.

Where else was she supposed to meet people in Ireland?

Actually I thought it was very good. Maybe that's because I've seen her documentaries before?

For once they actually show on tv how the gardaí treat people like absolute shít (at a protest they even shoved the reporter into a car, thinking she was protesting along with injuring loads more people) and they explained that politicians and bankers wasted money and normal people are paying for it now.

These things are usually covered up by people saying that 'we' caused it, when that's not true.

Funny how it takes the BBC and Channel 4 to report things like this while RTE ignore it.

that is because RTE is state owned, BBC is also state owned but not the irish state, so they could get away with it, however when it comes to highlighting british problems they are quickly silenced by their government.

I only saw the last 5 mins but, no matter what preceded those, it was very disheartening to see a new generation saying "Goodbye" with tears streaming down their faces to ageing parents at the airport :(
