    Ben Sims - www.myspace.com/theoryrecordings
Ben Sims had his first decks at age ten. Schooled on mix tapes by the likes of Bambaata, DJ Cheese and Froggy, and with his musical roots in reggae, funk, disco, electro, rare groove and hip-hop, by his mid teens he was spinning at after-hours 'blues' houses and a few years later came the acid house explosion with pirate radio and clubs. Skip forward over 20 years and you'll find he¹s one of the UK's biggest techno exports and a much in demand producer.

Ben has been involved in running 9 labels over the years, (Theory, Killabite, Hardgroove, Native, Ingoma, Symbolism, Assembly, KB Records inc, Split Music), each one with a distinctive sound, ranging from hardgroovin' and funk driven techno and house that is the trademark of his DJ sets, via tribal, to melodic electronica. In a genre that propagates sound-a-likes, Ben Sims productions have gained widespread attention, influenced a generation and feature regularly in the boxes of his own personal favourites like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills and Rolando, whilst also attracting crossover appeal from the likes of Carl Cox etc. He has remixed Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Blake Baxter, DJ Funk, Marco Bailey, Funk D'Void, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer plus many more and has had his tracks and remixes featured on mix cds by Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Francois Kevorkian, DJ Rush, Joey Beltram, Dave Clarke, Umek, Luke Slater, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and hundreds more.

The past 15 years have seen Ben constantly touring and tearing up dancefloors at legendary clubs & parties like- Liquid room, Tokyo, Sonar, Barcelona, Limelight. NYC, Rex, Paris, Zouk, Singapore, I love Techno, Gent, Tresor, Berlin, Awakenings, Amsterdam and Atomic jam, Birmingham plus hundreds of others with his tight, energetic and skilful brand of 3 deck wizardry. In recent years performances as FREQUENCY 7 with Birmingham's Surgeon and KILLA PRODUCTIONS with Paul Mac (both projects pushing the boundaries of DJ sets while utilizing turntables, cdj's, FX and all the latest hardcore/software) have also been a regular feature on Ben's international calendar and on the stages of some of globes most respected festivals and clubs including Fabric, Monegros and Bloc.

2011 saw the birth of a brand new night in London co-hosted with Kirk Degiorgio called Machine focusing solely on upfront music (www.machinelondon.com)... There¹s certainly no sign of things slowly down any time for soon.

    2562 aka A Made Up Sound - www.soundcloud.com/2562amadeupsound
Imagine a head-on collision between freestyle rhythms, soundsystem shaking bass, emotive chords and unusual sampling tactics… or just forget about it. The music of 2562 – aka Berlin-based Dutchman Dave Huismans, the number being his former zipcode in The Hague – keeps surprising anyone with a keen ear for new electronic music right because it escapes the usual categories. Pacey and futuristic bass transmissions such as ‘Kameleon’, ‘Techno Dread’, ‘Flashback’ and ‘Dinosaur’, released on DJ Pinch’s highly respected Tectonic label, found their way onto the decks of everyone from Kode9, Benji B and Mary Anne Hobbs to house/techno veterans Anthony Shake Shakir, Francois K and Laurent Garnier.

His debut album ‘Aerial’ (Tectonic, Spring 2008) was a pivotal release for the much-discussed grey area between techno and dubstep and was often imitated but never equaled. The sophomore LP ‘Unbalance’ (Tectonic, Autumn 2009) saw him take an even more personal and organic direction in future bass music. Considered by many to be one of those rare electronic albums that works as a whole, its otherworldly soul-drenched spacefunk made it to Resident Advisor’s year end album top 10, described as “a zenith for techno-tinged dubstep in 2009”.

Never happy to stay in one place, Dave simultaneously runs his (longest-running) project A Made Up Sound, known for freestyle techno releases on a.o. cultlabels Delsin and Clone and the same-titled label that took off over 2010. FutureIn the works since autumn 2010 is the first ever 2562 live set, containing all-new music. Early 2011 will see the release of the first new 2562 material since his contribution to the recent Modeselektion- compilation. A full new 2562 album will drop on his own newly launched When In Doubt imprint, dedicated to personal, formula-free music of many colors.

Known for a true love of DJ’ing, tight mixing skills and a wide selection in an uptempo style, 2562 is not another producer-turned-DJ, but a proper selector since years, who enjoys making a trip out of a set, mixing up brand new cuts fresh from the studio with unexpected house and techno gems. He plays regularly at high profile clubs such as Berghain/Panoramabar (Berlin), Fabric (London) and The Bunker (New York), as well as bass-strongholds Subloaded, FWD, Sub Dub and numerous festivals and underground nights all over the world – from Australia to Japan and from the USA to Russia.
