Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pity they weren't set-up thirty years ago. The site of the old GNR Works would have made a superb National Railway Museum - is it still semi derelict?

Hard to tell from this Google view, but until quite recently a lot of the original buildings remained in situ.

From the gist of it, seems to be along the lines of the IRRS (Slideshow Bobs and outings) rather than a roll-up-the-sleeves society.

All of the brick/stone buildings are still there, the carcass of the railcar shed is now gone. The 2 main shops have been crudely joined together

Do something better then, maybe ask JD for advice on running a preservation society

Just back from a most interesting guided tour of Dundalk Works, so at least they are doing something. Not much GNRI heritage left to preserve now, so its a good time to get the memories and stories on record
