    Anybody know what the finish coating for external insulation is called or have a link to a supplier?

    It's just called topcoat or finish coat. But remember EIFS is not suitable in all instances. Google should throw up all you need.

    I was going to put it over some waterproof boards on a shed. Somebody was telling that it is an acrylic base...is that right?

    Yes, it's acrylic. If you're putting it over cement/waterproof boards, scrim the joints. If there are lots of trees nearby or it's in a shaded area you may get algae. Also, don't take it to the ground ......... do a sand and cement plinth. This is better for countering the splashing rain and staining. When nailing on the cement board, use galvanised/stainless steel screws ........ to stop rust showing through on high areas.
