Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Isle of Man TT 2013 Packages

Ok husband is 50 next year and always wanted to go to see the TT. I am thinking of booking him a package for it - a friend of his would go if asked as he is really into watching it as well. They are not motor bike riders just spectators. What would be the best thing to book and who with? Are there any VIP packages to make it extra special? How long should they go for?

    All advice appreciated.

I went with my girlfriend last month. She had booked it for me as a Christmas present last year.
I don't know the prices exactly, but I do know that it cost her an absolute bomb.

We were foot passengers on the ferry,(Ferry from Dublin to Douglas on the Tuesday; then flew back to Belfast on the Saturday), camped at Union Mills, and went to the "VIP" day on the Friday where we got to meet a bunch of the TT racers, plus a few MotoGP racers, etc. Great fun, but again, I'm not sure how much that cost!

The weather was feckin' miserable, so for safety's sake, try to get accomodation with a roof over your head if possible!

She booked it all through "Regency travel".

I actually checked online myself yesterday, and apparently a bunch of the hotels in Douglas are already booked out for 2013 - so, try to check it out soon if you're set on the idea!

Nutt Travel, based in Coleraine, appear to be specialists in arranging transport, etc for bike trips (to various races). Might be worth giving them a call

(no connection, I just recall seeing their adverts at the NI bike show)

TBH as nice as it is as a gesture, the money spent on that you would get a very good holiday elsewhere. Maybe even the BSB motorbikes at brandshatch or something.

For a lot of people the TT is a once in a lifetime thing, a bucket list type trip. Much as I love the BSB, it doesn't really compare at all. It is possible to get affordable trips to the IoMTT, I'll keep an eye out for you OP.
