Alonso off the cliff? Could be interesting end.

Shumacher within DRS, Webber catching Alonso, and the Battle for the last points.

Just need Massa on the podium now, Vettel's engine to blow :D

Looked like Ferrari could have left Alonso out longer on the hards, Gary Anderson called it earlier when he said Alonso needed 4 more laps on the hards

Damnit Kimi. He really needed the DRS there to have any chance next time around. Ah well.

When he was out on his first stint, he was lapping in the 1.38s - faster than most of the field.

Webber the first double winner of 2012

Another 2-3 laps and he would've come out behind Webber.

    Alonso was.

Delighted for Mark- good drive. Terrible from Mercedes- Schumi starts 3rd and finishes 7th because they still cant get over their tyre wear problems. You would think after 3 years and their budget that they should be much stronger.

Certainly an awful race for Button but to finish 8 seconds behind your teammate who started 8 places ahead on the grid doesn't sound so bad :pac:

Could do with Webber, Alonso and Vettel dropping points in the next few races. Lotus really need to sort out their strategy.

I thought it was very entertaining myself, lots of individual battles throughout the field.

Any race when there isn't rain or someone wins from 17th on the grid gets called boring these days.

Why is your man standing in front of the drivers on the podium??

A proper trophy, not like some of the awful tat they give out at some races.

Its Ken Clarke. He's probably pissed.

I thought it was a bit of a yawnfest as well. Silverstone needs rain to be interesting.

Kobayshi is a crazy, totally missed his slot, poor mechanics

He's apologized over the radio for mowing them all down. Crazy man driving

I see Kovalainen in his seat next year. Caterham diapointed amount of improvement despite new aero package for this race, wet or dry.

Pity Fernando couldn't have held out but congrats to Mark Webber.

Fair play to Massa on 4th too!

Sorry if I missed it - any word from the Sauber pit crew after Kobayashi knocking them over like skittles?

One person had to go get checked out after it but didn't look like any serious injury

A pass for the win with a few laps to go and it's a yawnfest. OK.

Maldonado gets a 10K fine and a reprimand for crash with Perez. What a joke, if they want him to stop having needless accidents they need to do something more than a small fine and a talking to. Give him a 50k fine and send him to the back of the grid.

Look at Bautista in MotoGP, at fault for a crash last week in Assen and sent to the back of the grid today for his first offence. If you cause avoidable crashes on a consistent basis you need to be punished

So Maldonado can continue to be the headbanger of the F1 grid. That reprimand is a joke.

Kobayashi got a 25k fine for the pit stop incident. Doesn't really seem fair.

Just to put that in perspective, He's reported to have brought over €50 million to Williams when he signed for them from his sponsors,10K is a drop in the ocean....

I really don't think he deserved much today. Schumacher on Senna in Barcelona was a bigger/more needless error IMO.

Maldonado is a great driver but he is dangerous as I have said before. He nearly killed a marshal in a World Series by Renault race at Monaco about six years ago.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/4578667.stm

Him and Perez do have history going back to GP2.

However I do think that all of the incidents this season were racing incidents except the Perez one at Monaco which was a banning offence. Madness.

Video of that incident was posted before and it's not clear he did a lot wrong, he actually approached a crest off-line which doesn't seem like a terrible thing to do and got caught out.

I think I know which video you are looking at and I'm sure that's a different incident.

    This one?

The car ahead of him was going pretty quick, Maldonado approached off-line probably expecting something on the racing line.

Did anyone watch BBC forum? Watching now on iplayer and I have to say its great, really funny and one of the best so far this season.

DC and Brundle running into each other before the race was soo cringe worthy

Also, I saw some of the build up on Sky at the local shopping centre, and its as dry as day old toast. They are all too serious.

The way I do coverage for F1 I stick on Sky until Bbc coverage starts, then I wait until it gets to DC doing the run about and then I switch back to Sky for Brundle until after the race where I watch the BBC again.

I do pretty much the same except I keep Sky F1 on a second screen so that when BBC are doing their qualifying review, or something else I've already seen, I can flip over (if Sky are doing something worth watching).

Sky are poor though. Georgie Thompson for gods sake! Why is she there? If you have Allan McNish, who I have a great deal of time for, at the telly thing why does she need to be there to ask scripted questions?
