Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I hang out almost exclusively with women since secondary school. But there are things some of them are into that I'm not; clothes, food, that kind of thing. My husband genuinely is my best friend. We get on great as buddies. I've only a couple of female friends that would overlap in interests to the same extent.
    I don't know why some people end up acting like gender-stereotypes. I think that's why women and men gravitate towards same-sex groups. Also why a lot of relationships go sour.

    Wimmenz can be hard to be friends with, I've one best female friend alright but she's quite the tomboy. The other ones won't let you wrestle them or even bodyslam them after a few jars...sure where's the fun in that.

    Best mate is male. I enjoy female company probably more and I've had close female friends in the past but when they get a boyfriend or I get a girlfriend thats pretty much the friendship over.

    Kinda, but in a good way. :)

    My very closest friends are two females and one (gay) male.

    I've good friends who are hetero guys though - it's totally possible once neither party is in love with the other.

    A guy. Males and females can be friends without anything 'going on'. Guys are easier to trust than girls, I think. And generally, they're a lot more laid back than girls so I think they make better friends

    My SO is my best friend and is female (I'm male).

    I've had female best friends before who I wasn't in a relationship with though, wouldn't do it again though as it's just far, far too much hassle. Other lads are much easier to be around.

    The people I would consider my best friends are of both genders. I don't get why guys and girls can't be really good friends.

    Closest friend now and for the last couple of years is a woman and I'm male. The gossip etc that goes on about us is ridiculous though, like in a pub we drink in people don't seem to be able to accept that we are not a couple. But I'm not interested in her that way and vice versa.
    Then again I hate the "best friend" tag, people are closer to you at certain times in your life but for me it's changeable between friends.

    Yea that's a good point. I have had some "best friends" that I don't speak to anymore. Wow, that's a kind of depressing sentence.
