As an Irish Republican I am not sure if I am happy with my score :D
You scored 11 out of a possible 15

Congratulations! If this was the real British citizenship test you would have passed the 75% mark. Well done you! Feel free to keep your passport.

I scored 11, I could actually take up a British passport due to fact that my mother and father were both children of British* Citizens, well they were both Irish but both my grandfathers whom I never met were both British Citizen's due to the fact they were born in Ireland whilst it was under British rule before Independence.

My parents would first have to claim their UK passports before I could claim then, neither will do it as they are staunch Nationalists, and my mother said her father would turn in the grave if she claimed he was a British Citizen to get a UK Passport, the same man fought in the old IRA in the war of independence.

It is actually safer to have an Irish passport anyway because if you were kidnapped with say a UK passport it would be off with your head wheras an Irish Passport may see you being released.

Not how it works unfortunately. If that was the case everyone here with a Grandparent born in before 1922 would be able to get one.

I got 4 and 8 wrong. I don't think there's too much in there that's so specific to Britain that would give the average Brit a significant advantage over any reasonably well read individual, which defeats the purpose of a citizenship test, no? That said I do believe somehow that most British people would fail it but that says more about the average levels of general knowledge in society than anything else.

Is there any site where you can attempt an Irish one?
