Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

TBH Ted, it's really not that much, find another investment and stick it into that. If it was 300k, maybe that would be life changing, 3 mil, yeah ok, but 30k?

Go online and check out what Eddie Hobbs is advising these days.
Then go and do the exact opposite. At least you won't end up skint..

I agree with this tbh, 30k while a nice chunk of money may not stretch very far if god forbid something happened to you or your family. if you have more savings on top of that ok, but I wouldnt blow it all unless you have considerably more.

No thank God.. and none in Cap Verde either. And I didn't 'invest' in property here either when Eddie advised us to. Nor did I invest in Gold when Eddie advised us to (6 Months too late!!).
Good old Eddie, he's like the fellas in the bookies that can tell you the sure things after the race.

Buy one pair of underwear for every single day of the rest of your life. Buy them all at once and use one room of your house to store said underwear. The underwear room will then be heated via central heating. Every day for the rest of your life you will be able get up each morning and experience the serenity and freshness that can only come from a new and perfectly unspoiled pair of warm cotton underwear. The problems of life will seem that little bit smaller with such comfort around your crotch at all times. You could simply throw each pair away at the end of every day or if you're the ethical sort you could donate them to charity. Really, you'd be a fool to do anything else.

Since you mentioned it, save the money till you finish work and then travel south/central america on a motorbike.. Argentina to Mexico. That's my plan when I save enough cash.

Check advrider.com if ya want motorbike inspiration.. You're a lucky feker to be in a position to do it.

As a single man with no kids / ties? Buy a campervan / Hilux Surf and drive it to Australia.

For someone with kids who already has the house etc.? Disneyland and put the rest away for a rainy day / chuck it against the mortgage.

In my situation? Clear debts and chuck it in a high yield saving account as the start of saving for a deposit on a house.

Unfortunately I have to stay in my job that I absolutely hate for another year or so.

No you don't. No matter the situation. You have some cash and you can do what you like.

The only thing anyone has to do is die. Enjoy yourself!

It's an honest answer as to what I'd do with 30k. I've a missus and kids to support.

As much as I'd love to piss 30k into the wind to have fun with it (and, in fact, recommended that if the OP is single with no commitments he do so), I'd be a bit of a wanker if I were to do it rather than provide for my family.

I do but chances are if I cleared them with the €30k I would just go and get some more so screw it live a little and blow at least some of it, even just 10k then use the rest sensibly

Chances are I would do the same tbh, or at least the missus would make me!!

My missus is the opposite, she'd insist that some of the deposit money be spent on a trip to Disneyland! :p

Convert it into 50 cent pieces, fill a room and go swim in it.

Ah if only! I'm having trouble sleeping these days because I have a €500 overdraft I can't pay. So that'll be first.

I read some research about how money buys happiness, if you spend it on other people! Look up Ted Talks on youtube, "money does by happiness".

    College fees

    Charity obviously

    Clothes

    Great meals

    Holiday!!

Save the rest for a rainy day, recession and what not! Nout else you should really do is there?

    Enjoy!

    Ps. Giz 500 yeah?

Get Married. You could get a decent enough wedding for this and no more headache what to do with any $$k.

    Where would you invest 90K?
Don't see the point travelling around the world or buying things prone to depreciate - like cars, bikes etc. Not ready to buy a house for myself neither.
    Any ideas here?
