Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm surprised not to see a thread on the PhotoIreland Festival 2012.

I was wondering what shows people are looking forward to, or what shows they've seen that have blown their minds.

Personally, I liked 'Neither' by Kate Nolan. I'm looking forward to Evelyn Hofer's photos of 1960s Dublin, and Maurice Gunning's portrait of the Irish diaspora in Argentina. 'Landless in Chaco' also looks interesting. And an honourable mention to this, which looks like a cool concept.

Anyone else excited about the festival this year?

Everything is on in Dublin and at times that just don't suit me. Would like to go but not going to happen yet.

Jezz, I thought it was a rhetorical question :pac:

Yup, +1. Perhaps a more appropriate title would be PhotoDublin + Bray Festival (which there'd be nothing wrong with either) though I appreciate its title is more a metaphorical aspiration of the curators intent in which it should be considered :p

Anyway that doesn't really matter and that said, the GOP and National Photographic Archive will probably get a visit which broadly is as arty as I get :o - (and whats worse, it wouldn't matter what was on display :o:o but they're usually really good whenever you'd drop in).

Good that RUA in Tallaght got a look in. Fantastic place. Just can't figure what is showing in it (map shows it active, but the site layout is gawd awful... em... i appreciate its arty but lacking in a practical perspective methinks). Ah, I'll take a wander in and see how it goes.

Sorry, given availability and detachment from where its at leaves it very difficult to get jizzed up over it.

I've been so bloody busy with a piece i have in the science gallery on saturday that i haven't had a chance to see anything yet! Helping out in broadstone gallery for the Adapt show hanging (which looks really good btw), so will hopefully be able to sneak off then and through the week and get a look at everything else:)
