The empty houses of Stradbally

Does anyone know the story of the empty thatched houses of Stradbally?
We were taken there on Sunday, could not believe how such lovely looking houses could be left to deteriorate.
We were told they were owned by the person who was developing the garage at Lemybrien.

Keep thinking of these houses standing untouched for years, after all Stradbally is a beauty spot, in fact the whole coast is, it would be a pity to see them pulled down.

They should be done up and rented as holiday homes for tourists.

The same developer was doing up the "Old Pike Inn" as well.

As far as I know they are due to be pulled down, the ones on the lower part of the hill had water running in the front doors so seals were fitted. The landscaped gardens were lovely with litle bridges over a stream etc.

They wanted crazy money (even for the Boom) and none sold, so now down they come?

Thanks for the info, that is terrible, what a waste, got to admit it is a fantastic part of the county, got my eyes on the Woodhouse estate, that appears a real gem, Euro millions please come up, doubt I could even afford the gates, pity there are no pictures of the inside.
Thanks again, I suppose the Old Pike Inn and the garage will suffer the same fate?

Not exactly news as he bought it over a year ago and it has no connection with the thread.
