the tv stalling is probably a "dump" feature... it's also used in radio if something happens they can dump the last 10 seconds of audio, so if someone curses on the radio they can hit the button and it drops the audio.. thats prob what they're doing here

I suspect TV3's legal bods have told them to do this after a certain incident at the weekend.
