So apparently Parcel Motel do deliver on Saturdays! Brilliant service, they only took delivery of my parcel yesterday and I got it today.

I used the service today, at Cornelscourt Texaco (beside the Magic Carpet). Very neat. I brought two old biddies (family) with me who thought it was the height of sophistication. What an age we live in! :D

I'd love a pick up point in and around the Dun laoghaire area, maybe Rochestown Avenue, (Topaz petrol station) Nightline would have a serious amount of footfall there, it is a very built up area.

Ah here, Rochestown Ave to the Magic Carpet is about a 6 minute drive.

Lotsa folks down in the schticks wouldn't be overly sympathetic. :D

Just found one of these around the corner from the house in Ashtown. It's at the side of the Spar beside the Breffni Inn.

It's not listed on the site yet.

    Very handy !

Are there any restrictions on sizes and weights of packages?

  • Registered Users Posts: 483 ✭✭breathn

I wanted to buy something that has to be signed for, what's the deal there?

Edit: seems they will issue the driver with proof of delivery

Just confirming that this service works with Ebuyer.com using Google checkout. Ordered at 16:30 yesterday and signed for by ParcelMotel in Antrim at 11am today.

Just waiting for it to make it's way to my local motel.

    Great service so far.

Collected the goods today,2 minute walk from the house, will be much used coming towards Christmas .

Great service and gives so much more access to stuff thats expenisve here but lots cheaper in the UK, I like to support local business, but sometimes it's a no-brainer in cost savings.

Do Ebuyer still charge for delivery to Ireland when using Parcel Motel

I got a larger item and for a call to go and collect from finglas for no extra charge or get delivered for €21 needless to say I collected

I would assume not, since you're getting it delivered to the UK. Your order goes to the UK parcel motel address and you pay parcel motel to get it to your choice of collection point in Ireland. That's the whole point of parcel motel...

Independent parcel delivery firm Nightline has awarded a contract worth E200,000 to Hy-Tech Logistics to manage the roll-out of Nightline's newly launched network of Parcel Motel terminals in Ireland.

Four hundred of the state-of-the-art locker units will be installed nationwide over the course of the next 18 months as part of a E5 million investment which, the company says, could lead to the creation of 50 jobs.

    18 months though.
    Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Used the service yesterday for a large delivery with sports direct, delivered for free to parcel motel NI address and was with me at 7 am the next morning. Brilliant service and I would highly recommend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,083 ✭✭✭witnessmenow

Sports direct have sent me some massive boxes in the past actually, i guess that is one risk, you might not know how big the parcel you are being sent it

There is no import duty/tax when ordering from the UK..... Parcel Motel have said (I think) they will not deal with the import tax/duty i.e. they wont deal with China but that really remains to be seen.

Meant VAT or excise duties from deliveries from non EU countries? surely has to be paid?

Maybe so if you live close to the border, sure the cost of petrol wouldnt make it worth it!
