Calm down, 2 people said that on Facebook.

I am happily receiving packages in a timely manner. Ive got one waiting today that I only ordered off Amazon late last week and another in transit from Ebay.

Amazon are annoying me the way they are splitting the orders too but thats something we need to take up with Amazon. I wish there was an option to "Group my items into ONLY one delivery".

There are far more than two people experiencing delays with PM.
Last time I ordered from PM I knew it would be delivered the day after they received it. Now I don't know when I will get it.

Would have been cheaper and probably faster if I didn't use Parcel Motel.

Why anyone would order anything urgent or even semi-urgent via Parcel Motel is beyond me. It's a great service, but it's always going to have limitations. Growth problems aside, it's a fortnight from Christmas for Christ's sake.

After a week of them receiving my package and being held at the depot I took to twitter last night my package arrived today it's worth a shot

My first time using PM and I'm not impressed item not updated since arriving 24+ hours ago. Rang up twice told to wait and then told to email CS. Emailed CS no reply yet so asked on Facebook and twitter to look at email and no response either. This is for a ps4 for Christmas that they have. They are a part of night line so why shouldn't they be able to meet demand at Christmas? Other couriers do it just fine.

I was specifically referring to 2 people on Facebook who were waiting more than 10 days.

I dont use PM to get things cheap or fast, I use it because there is no one home to take delivery in the daytime.

I dont order anything so urgent online that a delay would cause me to have hysterics. If I need something urgently, I get it in a bricks and mortar shop.

I cant understand people for whom speed of delivery is of prime importance would order online AND use Parcel Motel - I mean, how many variables that cannot be controlled and could cause delay do you want to introduce into the transaction!!

    Hi,

Can you please tell me, can i use Parcel Motel to avail of the delivery as they have postage almost as much as the item, has anyone used them?

As i've emailed PM themselves, still waiting on a reply.

Well I left plenty of time. I ordered something mid-november and they got it on the 27th. They can't find it now.

After several phone calls I got no where until I tweeted about it. they are looking now at least.

Does parcel motel depot status mean its in my locker depot or at the depot ready for delivery?

It's in the Parcel Motel depot so still needs to go out for delivery, when it get store in the Motel ready for collection the status will be "Parcel stored in motel"
with a PIN number for collection listed

Yes, you can. Just enter the address for the Parcel Motel depot in Belfast with your name and Parcel Motel ID. You're not going to save much though, unless you have never used PM before and have your two free stays. Also, you might not get it for Christmas at this point. It says delivery to NI is 7-10 days, with it being so close to Christmas there might be delays with royal mail and parcel motel also.

The standard €3.50 charge includes liability cover up to €100. You can purchase extra cover on your account. €500 costs €3.50 for 14 days. I purchased that the other day as I have a €300 TV coming in.

Indeed it is a fortnight to Christmas... something they'll have had plenty of time to plan for and take on temp staff if necessary.

I've been a big fan of parcel motel from the start and have recommended it to a lot of people. I did always worry though that the time would come that it would get too big and just wouldn't be the smooth service it started out as. Hopefully though that time hasn't arrived yet and this is just a bump in the road as opposed to something that can't be rectified.

Thanks for that first time using PM. If they get my parcel to my desired motel tomorrow I will eat my own words complaining about them.

That's a lot of talking about yourself when nobody asked you anything. You sound cool.

Free standard delivery is available by code from thebookpeople until Friday 13th - thanks to nc6000 and Tayla

Otherwise it will be £2,95 + €3.50 by PM compared to £7.45 direct.

Give bookfinder.com a check first. You might get it cheaper elsewhere.

possibly because people are going by the website which states
"As soon as we receive your parcel we will put it into your chosen Parcel Motel within 1 working day."
which appears to complete bs these days

When you input the porn code it will pop open. :)

Have you any plans to install a parcel motel in Leixlip (or maybe Applegreen Celbridge)?

The Lucan motel is nearby, but it is not possible to cross over the road without going all the way to Liffey Valley and back, perhaps queuing for 30 mins at the Liffey Valley interchange.

Come off the N4 at junction before LV one and you can make your way quite easily to the garage from there.

Isn't the previous junction the Woodies jct? That's still too far west of Texaco Lucan, unless I'm missing something?

That's handy to know. However it only takes about 4 minutes to go to the Liffey valley junction and back again. Much handier.
