I rang them earlier and sounded like they had "hundreds" of them in a big section of their warehouse. Also came across that it was chaos... Hopefully your package is there and you'll get it when they sort themselves out.

It worries me a bit that you and I got different answers. If they have told me "we are experiencing delays checking in parcel due to the volume of them and we haven't got round to checking in some", I would have said fair enough it's to be expected given the time of time of year. But it doesn't instill confidence in me that they told me they have checked in everything they have received and they told you there's still 100s left. Seems they don't know what's going on

Does anyone happen to know if the Parcel Motel lockers are ever filled on a Sunday?

Also, that is their business model and it doesnt include depot pickup as an option. I am sure that they would have to set up a particular section for storing packages at the depot if they left it as an option. They would have to anticipate volumes atc. They would have to have a separate entrance, someone to deal with the customers, parking etc etc. It might even effect their insurance I dont know. I just know that it is more than leaving a few parcels in the corner.

You've never picked up an oversized parcel from them then....cos they DO have a separate entrance etc for people to pick up parcels directly from them. It works exactly like PM lockers: you enter your pin into a touchscreen, a ticket is printed, you give ticket to guy at counter, he fetches your parcel. For December volumes they should extend this service and offer as an alternative to a PM locker

They should be given the current situation but i doubt it.

Really in December they should cut the 48 hours to collect to 24 hours, if you don't collect it your parcel is sent back to the warehouse where you can collect. Also they should drop the littlewoods business as the returns Take up locker space!

Exactly yeah that makes total sense ^

I'v been having the same issues these last 2 weeks Waiting 4 days for an "in transit" package to be put in a locker.

Also parcel motel force changed my locker location as they said there was a backlog of parcels to it. The new location is not at all convenient and the customer support person didn't seem to care when I inquired about it.

Last Christmas was bad, but this year it's absolutely horrific, I'm still waiting on 3 "in transit" parcels to be put in my locker. 2 of em are already past the 48hour mark.

The service has lost serious reputation in my books.

Hi, just ordered £50 worth of nail polish from the UK & used NI Parcel Motel address (because I know they can't deliver to Ireland). Do you think Parcel Motel will accept it? :( Are they very strict? I probably should have asked before placing the order :/

Just for the record. The courier I spoke to said they do three shifts a day seven days a week.

For? Car, bike? It'll probably be oversized and you'll have to collect from central depot.

    apologies, yes, car tyres.

Fair enough. However their system is probably set up for a relatively small amount of oversized parcels. They should probably look at expanding that in future but probably more difficult to do "on the fly" as they are probably firefighting a number of issues at the same time.

Yeah. Go into their faq section, and look for the oversize calculator.

They are already putting some trucks at the lockers and handing out the packages, but they aren't doing it nearly enough.

The delays have nothing to do with people not picking up packages enough. Your given 48 hours to take it or it's remove. Sure that could cause some delay.

I was waiting nearly 80 plus hours for a package, and it was delievered along with around 50 other packages, with another courier due to bring more a few hours later. Their clearly still waiting until the lockers are near empty before going back to fill more, but that still requires them to go back to depot and have it filled up with the lot that are going in.

They are not leaving them on the trucks and delivering the when they get a chance.
I would imagine that they have designated routes and timings setup to maximise efficiencies and it would be nearly impossible to change one part of the delivery process without adversely effecting another. Best you could hope for is a thorough review and forward planning for next year.

As long as the box is no bigger than 41 x 38 x 64 cm, it can fit in one of the lockers. If it's within that size, you'll only get charged extra if the box weighs above 10KG. I don't see why Parcel Motel would have an issue with nail polish.

Nail polish is subject to shipping restrictions from the UK

Yes, that's the impression I got too. Was also told that they fill the lockers up to 3 times a day which is incorrect if you read this thread. Also was told they are up to 72 hours behind with some locations.

I'm waiting since the 10th for mine.

Mine arrived in Antrim on the 9th, checked in lunchtime on the 11th ... still waiting ... 79.5 hours since check in, they've had it 125 hours. Edit: seems to have arrived now, 3am on the 15th, never had one at that time before ...

I've only just noticed the option to log items you're expecting, if you do this it increases liability to €250 and helps them to keep track of packages if they arrive missing PMID.. is it new or been there a while?

I logged a missing item on Wednesday, they said items that arrive without a PMID are checked against this log daily but still nothing about mine unfortunately

Does this work for Ebay? Will an ebay seller ship to the Belfast address even if it's not your paypal address? I ask because it would surely violate the terms of agreement with Paypal and then the seller would no longer be protected.

I've been waiting 5 days from when my parcel was logged with them and I haven't recieved a text from them. I feel I'll be lucky to get my packages before Christmas after reading about the delays on this thread.

Given your timelines I wouldn't hold my breath on it being delivered on time tbh.

Does anyone receiving tyres (205/55/16) through the parcel Motel? Just wondering how much it will be? calculator gives me 7E for one tyre and 21E for both to be processed which make me to think to send them separately.
App size 60x60x25 for one and 60x60x45 for two.
