Think they mean where are the lockers in the station..

Think I saw a mention of this being resolved now - but in case anyone is wondering - its at the back left corner. So instead of turning to the right when entering the filling station - keep left/drive around the back of the building and its right in front of you.
You can see it from the entrance if you keep left...

I think people understand the need for customs to inspect items.
Would understand the need for Parcel Motel to have a look if they need an address or whatever. How often would that need really occur though?

Quite a few reports lately of Parcel Motel having a gander in customers parcels. Suppose it wouldn't really bother me with most items but I would prefer if they didn't.

Wonder is it market research? Grab a look at what customers are buying and from which retailer.

  • I don't mind if they have a look at the copious amounts of pornog.....erm photography that I order over the net.

Maybe you made a few typos when entering the address? :)

You could send a PM to Parcel Motel: Orla with all your details.

Parcels arriving into Ireland via Parcel Motel are subjectto the same customs and border controls as any other conventional deliverymethod (e.g. by Post or Courier). In normal circumstances though we will only open a parcel ifPMID or name information is incomplete (a lot of parcels arrive with incompleteinformation) or if we suspect the parcel contains prohibited items in whichcase we will inform the relevant authorities.
For smooth and fastest transition thorough ourcheck in centres ensure that you have the name as registered and the PMIDclearly shown in the address information. The process is fully automated ifboth pieces of information are present and correct.

I hope they pick a couple of decent locations near the city centre. I'm sick to the teeth of having to go all the way out to Knocknaheeny to pick up parcels, An Post couldn't have put that parcel office in a more awkward place. I'll happily pay the €3.50 extra just to have my parcel dropped to a location that's less hassle to get to.

    A good point.
But considering it can cost at least €130 per month to have one with An Post. Wouldn't seem a bad option for a small business or service.

Really hope the lockers as you say are in decent locations, its a pain in the neck with An Post when no-one is at home.

They shall be sick of my face when it opens :D

It Appears that the Postcode in royal mails records for Parcel Motel is BT36 4PE and not 4PX i suppose every system is different but I had a problem with this on my first order to Parcel Motel-Worth noting if any sellers come back to you re the address

Just read this from their FAQ: "Some sites will want to change the 4PX part of the postcode on the Belfast address to 4PE. 4PX is the Mallusk Road and 4PE is the McKinney Road. As our depot is on the corner of both roads, either postcode will work".

Just used PM for the first time. Very impressed. Ordered from argos uk on Thursday night...collected on Tuesday night.

See Parcel Motel: Orla's post a few pages back. BT36 4PE is now the recommended postcode, and 'Mallusk' is not needed in the address anymore.

Ah Ha! Thanks for reminding me about using PM for them! Many times I have noted how the UK are way better value than the irish ones when I'm looking for stuff.

Hi, just used the service for the 1st time and have to say this is an excellent service and could not fault it. Thanks.

Used it this morning for the first time. Got the text nice and early, rambled down with the dogs. Picked up parcel. Saved a few quid on postage.2 more parcels on the way now that are normally uk delivery only. Bought some credit too. Seems to be a great system. Im going to give this motel top marks on Tripadvisor!

How does parcelmotel work with multiple packages?

Say I am ordering 7 dvds from amazon.com and they don't ship everything together. Would I be charged 3.50 per parcel?

Yes, you'll be charged per parcel.

Will it matter if your PMID is on the same line as your name? Trying to order something but its not allowing much space to fit everything in.

What's the story with customs payments on Amazon.com deliveries with this service? Do they refuse to handle such deliveries? Anybody know?
