I think the OP just wanted to tell us a funny story and all us do gooders came on giving out and pointing out his failures as to how a good person should welcome the new neighbours.
Never mind OP you can still go round and offer to tend to his flowers for him.

There about a month ago and a bit this attractive looking couple and their two kids moved in a couple of doors up. My OH came back from her girl’s night with a few neighbours and this family was discussed. They haven’t worked a day since they moved in and one neighbour heard that they even went on a 2 week holiday to Disneyland USA. Not only that, but they have 2 cars not over 3 years old. We are now fearing that they might be drug dealers and that’s not what we want in our estate. We never had anything like this before.
When they moved in first there was a steady stream of youths going in and spending about an hour before emerging again. That has stopped and they went for their ”trip” He is always out smiling and saying hellow trying to blend in whilst she goes on expensive shopping trips laden down with bags when she gets home. How should we approach this and could we get the guards to look them up?
    Thanks.
Have you ever been suspicious about a couple.

This is interesting, because my neighbour hasn't gone to work in over 6 weeks, but he had a youths calling to his door in the evenings. But this all stopped a couple of weeks ago.

It could be related to the fact that he teaches history and geography in a secondary school, and teaches grinds in the evening.

But he's probably a drug dealer.

My drug dealer neighbours are my favourite neighbours, they keep to themselves and their house is always really tidy.

There's a drug rehab place right across the road and it's gas to see the queue at their door every day at 5pm. Real subtle lads.

1: Their attractiveness is irrelevant. I find it odd you mention this. Who's more attractive, him or her? Are they equally attractive? Scale of 1-10?
2: That's why I don't go on girls nights. Your OH has NO right to speculate with the neighbours. Imagine what she told them about you.
3: Several (non-minted) people I know drive fairly new cars. It's called a trade-in, lots of people move up every couple of years.
4: Maybe he's trying to be friendly by saying "hellow" (is he Russian?!) rather than 'blend in' as you so eloquently put it.
5: Disneyland USA? How very DARE they. Disneyland Paris, fair enough. But USA? The cheek of them.
6: I came home today laden with shopping bags. I spent 60 quid in Aldi, 11 in the pet food shop and 25 in Tesco. I wonder what my neighbours think I've bought. Do drug dealers need to buy lots of shopping?
7: I have been suspicious. Some might say I'm suspicious right now.
Ok, so I rang the OH and told her to relax, there is probably nothing to worry about but she says she will prove me wrong.
I think I will do that, next time I am walking by and he is out tending his flowers, and introduce myself and see what kind of people they are.

Okay, hold the phone, HE TENDS FLOWERS?! Definitely a dealer so, because all the dealers I've ever heard about are particularly fond of their petunias.

I sincerely hope you're a troll, but if you aren't, get your nosey wife and give her a good seeing to, because the two of ye need a bit of excitement in your lives. If I knew where you lived I'd warn your neighbours.

Jasus, we have one of them at work. I had no idea they'd been outlawed. I'm gonna go in and smash it up and bury the evidence tomorrow. A few people who buy cans out of it might be p1ssed off, but no way am I risking a Garda raid. Thanks for the heads up.

the kid/s coud be disabled and have a car paid or part paid from the mobility fund, they coud have had the holiday paid by a charity or some disability fund, some of us who live here have motability cars, and last year one of the teenage youngsters living here had a two week holiday to disney world florida paid by a well known terminaly ill charity.

dont be so judgemental about what other people have and do,its their life,if they arent harming anyone then let them live it and dont be jealous because the mentality and attitude will really show to them,as new neighbours they shoud be welcomed with an open mind and not with suspicion.
people never know, they coud have a lot more problems than the rest; underneath the things that people are focusing on.

The bang of jealously from the OP is unreal. This is the 21st century just because someone doesn't do the 9/5 job it doesn't make them a drug dealer.
Even if they are selling drugs, what business is it of yours?
Are you afraid of competition or something?

    Is this you OP?

"Trevor Marshall, 48, and his girlfriend Kat Karolak, 40, were chased through the streets of Clacton before being shot at by Peter Reeve, 64.

The pair were fired at four times within ten minutes by Reeve, who is thought to have become increasingly paranoid about the activities of his neighbours before going on the rampage.

Neighbours claimed that Reeve and falsely “obsessed” with the idea that Mr Marshall, his downstairs neighbour, was dealing drugs and printing money before finally snapping on Monday and used an illegally held weapon to shoot at him.

Mr Marshall fled into the street and was wounded in the attack after being shot at point blank range.

But off-duty police officer PC Ian Dibell, 41, was tragically killed when he heroically tried to intervene to protect his neighbours."

Seriously though there is loads of reasons beyond drugs that they could be living this way.

    They might have:

    Inheritance.

    Property rented out.

    Rich parents.

    Insurance claim.

    Business from home.

    Lotto.

    Lay golden eggs.

    Have invented post-its.

    International terrorists (hellow).

They might have a porn website recording their every move in the house.

Public sector job that pays huge amounts of money for two hours a day work.

Are you sure they are not on the dole? That is the kind of life that a load of miserable, bitter, begrudging sh1tebags on here reckon that you can have on the dole.

Is it Mary Harney? She has a great pension, lump sum and a claim for 400k for getting called an alcoholic.

sounds like my house.. we both work from home a lot. I take much of my orders from over the internet and the OH has an office upstairs. We are friendly to our neighbours, go away on trips once in a while, and although we dont drive new cars, our house is big. This is the first neighborhood that ticket sellers will go from door to door. When we moved here first, locals were curious alright, but then we got to know people better.

Simple way to solve this problem, turn off the PC, walk down the street, greet them. Sounds like you never even met them before. Most logical thing to do.

(Then walk back, turn the PC back on and tell us if you were right :P )

Some psychologists work from a home office these days, maybe this could explain the steady stream of youths spending an hour?

Could be a physiotherapist working from home? Google there address and see if there's any adverts online?
