The way I see it, most people i know who aren't on it, one in particular, goes on at length about not being on it but spends every other spare home minute online.

What is that? That's right a loser.

Then people embrace it, use it socially, others are addicted.

But people like the op, attention seeking. Sorry. Build a bridge and get over it.

Facebook's content is exactly as good as your friends are. All I see on this thread is a load of people with really shit friends

Pretty much - but it's just easier to blame a piece of software.

Facebook is dying, and will go the way of bebo in time. Mabye not that drastic but I feel its traffic is slowing (based on the observation of my 131 friends :D).

I agree. Anyone investing in it is foolish. One only has to look at the great Bebo crash of 2008!

I also noticed that facebook traffic was slowing... They are going down the Bebo hole... 2 more years MAX!

But...there will be some new site.... which probably exists its just we havent heard of the nerd who made it yet.... Little does he know how is life is about to change!!!!

Tried it for a little while, fuckin hated it so deactivated my account. I'm not the 'social networking' type..
My main problem is that I hate people in general, and facebook makes me hate them more.

The only difference between FB and Boards that I can see is Boards is (at times) wittier and a bit more anonymous.

What about proper conversation and Moderators, you forgot that.
    :D

I spend a lot more time on boards than facebook. I get a lot more out of boards. Facebook is good for keeping in touch with old friends and sharing photos. A few of my friends emigrated to Australia a while back and its nice to see what they're getting up to. I don't like the way some people feel the need to update their status every 10 mins though - and the females who upload hundreds of self-alluring photos, which not only show off their considerable physical features, but also the make and model of their digital camera.

I find it really useful as an expat.. There's a Hanoi group with alot of the people I'd generally know and meet on a night out. It's like the backbone of knowing what's going on.

If you don't find it useful, that's fine. But it has it's uses for some.

Endlessly agonizing about the presence or non-presence of Facebook in your life is far more teenage than actually using it.

My opinion of FB is that it is a total waste of my time.

I do use boards, mostly, and than the odd post on Google +, but that is about it. I do value my privacy a lot of the time as I don't not share a lot of things when on Google+ as to when other people do it regularly on FB.

My own reason of not using FB is that it is too demanding to post things that people just don't care about.

I closed my account for good there a few weeks ago, as I got fed up of people knowing what I was doing a lot of the time, from people leaving messages on my wall etc.

Its great if your the type who likes to stalk and check up on people as to what their at or where their going all the time, but thats not for me.

Plus I hated the new layout of the site.
