Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The sounds a bit wonky but can be easily lowered down.

I don't like photography web-sites, so I thought I might do a few of these.

    Thoughts?

Thanks, I haven't any others finished at the moment but will be getting around to them. I might tighten up on the music recording and timing editing with the images 1st though.

I like keeping it down to an impressionable 12 to 16 images per vid. More than enough and the 6seconds display seems about right to me.

It's a very enjoyable thing to do and fairly easy too.

Excellent presentation of your stuff. Have to say I'm proud to have the second photo in the set framed and hanging on my wall.

Thanks Denis- I'd been thinking about how I wanted my work to be presented on line for a while now. I've not been taken with having a web-site, they work great for people with a service to sell (weddings, portraits etc.) and look great when they are aimed at their specific market.

Where I find web-sites don't work for me is in the artistic area, especially if it's mixed with a service too (I find them baffling:)). When I'm browsing someone's artistic site I find myself clicking quickly through pics I don't instantly engage whereas in real life it's those pics that I'll eventually prefer.

Blogs are great for people that will keep them going- I'm unfortunately not like that.

A video clip lets me give someone an on-line touch stone with my work but in a way that allows me to measure out the pics in a sequence I want and at a rate I'm comfortable with.

@baz- Thanks for the kind comment on the music. It wasn't written for the pics, in fact the music came first by a long way. A lot of my pics come from having writers block, I need to put my brain elsewhere when stuck. So it seemed the fairly normal thing to do in putting them together as both the music and pics come from much the same place.

I like your montage a lot - showcases the work excellently and is just the right length too.

Thanks ACD, no not all early (by the way early means '09:)). I didn't want chronological as then it wouldn't roll along as I wanted and it would be a restriction in the process- the process being to get towards something I'm happy with.

So I didn't want chronological or best of.

I've broken the 15 down in years for you-

    '09, '11, '10, '11, '12, '11, '09, '09, '10, '10, '10, '11, '10, '10, '09.

Colours, content and (context with the music) were all I went on and had the selection within a half hour.

does this mean you are only started out in 09 ?

if so, even more impressive ;)

I like it a lot, definitely going to try to put something similar together at some stage.

Can I ask what software you used?

    cheers

Picasa. It's free and simple to download. The video part is in the main package, nothing seperate to download.

It's my own, just recorded it on my portable recorder. Could and should be a lot tidier.
While I have seen pic clips like this before one thing I didn't like was the music people put with it. They were trying to say something about themselves in the music they picked regardless of if whether connected with the images.
