Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was in Easons just a few hours ago and flicking through some mags saw a really interesting article in this magazine about The Irish football team in the Paris Olympics of 1924 and the first involvement of an Irish sporting organisation abroad. This has been covered before here but the article also went on to mention that the team which was largely composed of LOI players put a wreath of flowers on the tomb of the unknown soldier but imo more importantly for the new state unfurled the new flag under the Arc de Triomphe.

Only managed to read a few paragraphs but I must pick up the magazine as it did mention the 1930 World Cup as well held in Uruguay. The Olympics was very important to the Free State as a new nation trying to establish itself especially as the British FAs were very antagonistic towards the new country. It seemed to be a good read.

The Magazine is a special Olympic edition.
