Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Housemates always at it!

A girl I work with is having an unusual problem. She has moved into a new house and the couple she has now lives with are at it every night

She comes into work every day wrecked tired after only getting three to fours hours sleep every night due to her housemates very active sex life.

She has only just met this couple and they keep to themselves pretty much. She doesn't know how to approach it with them as it's not something that can be easily brought into conversation. She is also generally quite shy and timid.

What advice can the readers of After Hours give her? She has asked me but I haven't a feckin' clue! The house is in a great location and the rent is very reasonable so moving out would be the very last resort.

Tell her to record what they're doing with a dictaphone and play it back to them the next day.

Id say my neighbours have had a few sleepless nights.

Just tell her to ask them if they are putting up shelves or something, tell them they are getting better, its only taking 10 minutes lately. See what they say then!

Get her to put some itching powder on the bed sheets.

Just tell her to knock on the door, holding her 50 shades of grey book and give a dirty wink!

Move out. Living with a couple always a bad idea, especially if it's just you and them.

Tell her to make sex noises herself so that the others think she's flicking her bean while listening to them have sex. They'll be far too freaked out to continue.

You don't have to be "brave" or anything to bring that issue up in a conversation. Just mention that you have problems sleeping because they are a bit noisy and ask if they could keep it down.

Otherwise, just get an active sex life yourself and **** until the walls crumble.

No matter what way she approaches the situation it's going to be awkward and will end up being hassle.
Move out is the only solution really, absolute madness living with a couple.

Honestly? Ear plugs - all joking aside.
Thats if she still chooses to stay.

When the couple start she should press her RamantRabbit against the wall and groan gently but load enough...they'll get the hint.

Yes I think she is going to have to face her fear and say something.

Well you said she's shy, and I presume not good at confrontation, and they obviously aren't considerate, so it might be the only option.

Haha, are you mad, you can't say something to a couple just because they have an active sex life, if it was said to me I'd be twice as loud in future.

She's going to have to either like it or lump it.

Just clap and cheer when they finish, that worked for me a few years ago.

My mate had to say it to the housemate...

housemate went bright red with embarrassment, dont think her choice of words were the best. we were all in the kitchen and she pipes up " got lovely sound effects from your ridin session lastnight "

    If you can't beat them.....

Tell her to offer a three way.

Do what I used to do when my flat mate (of days gone by) would wreck my head with his missus and their bedroom fumbles, get yourself a **** buddy and out do them.

Simple really, even if you have to fake it just go nuts

    Pretty much this!

They can outvote you on everything, if anything ever comes to a vote.

Plus they have a tendency to take over the place without even meaning to.

As already mentioned, Earplugs solve all these problems. I snore like Fcuk and my wife uses them rather then go into the next room.

Ah, if she just waits a while, the novelty will wear off for them and she'll only loose one or two nights sleep a month. Time heals all.:D

Tell her to solve the problem Single White Female style.

    This will involve:
    1. Changing her look to match the other woman
    2. Tricking the guy while he is in bed that she is the other woman
    3. Giving the guy a blowjob
    4. Killing him with a high heel to the eye after he realises its not his wife/GF

    Simples

is the house attached to other houses??? if so when they start their riding sessions text a mate to come over and ring the bell continusly- they will hear it... then 10 mins later knock on the door and say a neighbour just called in complaining they could hear them and that he is making a complaint to the landlord

    or...

have someone you know call the landlord saying they live in next house and that his tenants are riding very loudly and even though they bang on wall and yell at them to stop they dont

the threat of an angry landlord will stop them

Jeez they must be v loud if she losing sleep though- i myself would have no prob saying it to them but thats just me

I wonder why their last housemate move out !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,033 ✭✭✭mauzo

Surely she's going to get the ride at some point??

And she'll want them to pretend they didn't hear it....

If I was her I'd just put up with it, and by put up with it I mean fap along with them..

Wash their toothbrushes with toilet water. This doesn't have any relevance but it's more of an act of retribution.

Now what she wants to do is start planting the seeds of doubt into this guys missus that he is cheating. This could involve fake texts, leaving women's underwear under his pillow, whatever you fancy, as long as it leaves the impression that he is having an affair. Then once the lady starts to get suspicious, your friend now begins to take advantage. She says stuff like "Is (insert mans name) out with his sister"? The lady replies, "He doesn't have a sister, he's supposed to be out jogging" Then your friend and the lady bond, the guy gets thrown out of the apartment and no more sex noises. Your welcome.

  • Registered Users Posts: 591 ✭✭✭spankysue

Maybe they're trying to entice her into a three way? Making lots of noise so she'll know how great they are at doing sex on each other.

She should get in on that.

Put camera in room. Record shagging. Sell for money. Success.

If that fails, get a hacksaw and saw 3/4 into each leg of their bed. One reverse cowgirl later, and they'll go through the feckin' floor.

She should get a cat... For some reason during sex, they always sit there and stare at you. It's really off putting.

A mate of mine had this problem with her roommate. Her boyfriend came up with a solution that worked. He got a porn DVD and every time they'd go upstairs and kick off he'd blare the porn film at high volume. This pair weren't the sharpest axes in the toolshed, a bit self involved, but it only took a couple of goes of this and they stopped.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,460 ✭✭✭Ishmael

Earplugs? Probably not the best solution but could at least offer some peace.

If she has the number for the landlord / owner, she could ring pretending to be one of the neighbors and make a complaint about the noise. That way it doesn't look like the complaint is coming from her but will give her an easy opportunity to bring it up with them when the landlord comes to tell them to be quiet.

The best solution in my opinion is to just address it directly. Have a chat about it. It might be a difficult subject but she only needs to bring it up once. The sooner she does it the better as the longer she lets it go on, the more they will deem it as acceptable behavior. If they are unwilling to make any effort to change, then she will at least know where she stands and she should probably look at moving out.

Ooooor, when they are doing it, start playing some porn really loudly. Something with those really annoying Americans in it. A few seconds of Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.......etc in a really whiny American accent should be enough to put them off. Or play this
