Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You should have taken Monday off :( Sorry you are tired, but the fact you were at EP makes me want to have very little sympathy for you either! :pac:

I would if I was allowed but another person already had the day booked off so I had to come back when I really wanted to stay the extra night. Stupid other peoples and their inconsiderate lives!

It was great craic. My first festival and great fun but that was mostly down to the company I was with. Found many of the acts to be a little boring for my tastes but loved Ham Sandwich and Le Galaxie.

Jealousy is in every fibre of my tired being! Sounds like an awesomes weekend. Gutted that I didn’t go.

Waiting to see if I got tickets to Robbie Williams. If I did, then I get to see two of teenage idols next week! Already going to see Leonard Cohen :D

Just back from a driving lesson there as I failed in Raheny a few weeks back. Instructor said that the first time pass rate (nationally) is only 18%. Would have expected it to be a fair bit higher, tbh.

I've got my address in as well. They said we'd know by noon today. Waiting.

Think only act at Picnic I really would've wanted to see was Turn. My last festival was Oxegen years ago. too old and like my sleep too much now. :P

My home town has one of the highest pass rates. Thankfully I passed the first time and didn't even do the test in my home town!

Best of luck, when's your test?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 18,521 CMod ✭✭✭✭The Black Oil

Thanks :) I reapplied straight away, but don't have a new date yet. Did a pre-test with my instructor before hand, but test itself was a different (easier) route. Instructor said I was driving well enough to pass, so hopefully it'll go better on the second go. Said he also had to sit a test himself a few weeks back - an senior RSA type sits in the back and observes how he gives lessons. Fun!

Raheny and Finglas are amongst the lowest first time pass rates anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Won't say how many tries it took me to pass the test. :o

Argh! Only thing worse would be if you didn't have the interweb. I remember when I first moved into my house had no internet or Sky. So my dvd and game backlog got a good bit cleared

Nothing says "welcome back to college!" quite like an assignment on yer first day...
Kitten, do you have to submit your assignments online? I did and had a mini panic because my module wasn't listed at all, thought I'd missed the deadline, but found it in the end!

Mine are all handed in on the day - there's only 65 of us in the course anyway so it's not a crazy amount of paper I guess. Also, a lot of my assignments are posters or resources (or music compositions..yes really :o ) so we can't really email them!

    Also hiya BadGirl!

So, you're doing as promised, being in college and scouting around on boards..:pac:

Panthro, have you seen Canadian dollars? I can't remember which ones exactly, but some have a transparent window thing, it's a bit weird.

Also found out today that apparently we're gonna be tested, as after the summer exams the lecturers think some of us might have literacy problem...yes, in a teaching college. :pac:

    Hi all,

    how are we today?

Welcome to the newbies! tGC is the best place in boards (imho) so you are more than welcome - pull up a chair.....just not the lazy boy - that's mine!! :D

@kitten - I am not surprised one bit - I swear to you I would be amazed if some of my teachers could SPELL the word teacher let alone teach!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,385 ✭✭✭✭D'Agger

Right so finally have a spare minute :)

Jobs going well so far - looks like I'll learn alot as a result of being forced to take responsibility for areas in which I don't have much experience. I'd imagine I'll have tough days ahead but I'm looking forward to it.

The only thing that has upset me about the job so far is the fact that we only have instant coffee here....I'll be bringing in my travel mug of liquid gold every morning instead thank you very much :)

Also I look like some man in my shirt and tie :pac:

    How's everyone else getting on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,404 ✭✭✭✭Pembily

Glad it's going well Paulie :)

Contigo are a really good brand of travel mug and the liquid stays hot too :D

Everything was down hill after the three boobed woman. Probably the high point of the film. Better than hover cars and shiny display things. Only a four boobed woman could have trumped that. :pac:

Croissants are a real love/hate deal for me, when the are bad they are horrible. I can eat a bad burger and still be happy with it but a bad croissant is manky however a good croissant is almost sexual.

You are in belgium, you are screwed with their lovely croissants.

Not a huge fan of croissants, they're a bit too buttery.

There is no such thing as too buttery! Blasphemy :P

I love criossants, ham and cheese, chocolate, plain, with jam! I do agree with Mags, a bad one can turn you off for good :(

    Good Morning everyone :)
All this talk of croissants is making me hungry... Up since 7.45 but haven't had time for tea yet, let alone brekkie... :(
Normally i'm not a breakfast person at all, usually don't eat til lunchtime at the earliest, but am starving this morning.
Yay for a sunny, bright Wednesday! :D:D

Hope you are all well, and happy today :)

Trick is to get them early in the morning, leave it late and you're screwed.

Being spoilt rotten here with the lovely food and beer, and everything is a lot cheaper. Ridiculous amount of Irish people here too which I find odd.
