Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lemaitre has done it 7 times. Plus he's run exactly 10 seconds, and as sprint times are rounded up, it's likely that it may have been 9.99x in reality. Marian Woronin of Poland and Koji Ito of Japan have both run 10 seconds dead, too.

Patrick Johnson of Australia ran 9.93. He's of Irish and Aboriginal descent.

Also, the dominance of Jeremy Warriner at 400m for years.

BBC reporting on a bottle thrown at the athletes just before the start of the 100m, man arrested apparently.

Noticed something odd about the start but didn't give it much attention at the time.

Looked like a Heineken bottle. An outrage! Not an official sponsor.

Some marketing guy from Gatorade throwing a bottle to Bolt?

yeah I saw that, it looked like a pepsi max bottle (dark label, dark liquid) thrown into Bolts lane, or maybe it was Paddy Barnes water bottle trying to get more twitfans :D

I've been busy today so haven't been paying attention to the olympics (dont know how I'll last for 4 years) but I keep seeing this but don't think I'm getting it. Was this said on TV or is it just taking the piss out of the BBC?

Why is RTE saying that John Joe Nevin has won the Bronze? Yes I know he is garanteed a medal, but the colour of which will depend on how he performs from here.

Will they be saying he has one the silver if he wins his semi final match?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Laura Robson has just reveiled on the BBC that her self and Andy had not practised for the Mixed Doubles.

Yes, they will. You are right and they are wrong. He is guaranteed a bronze at least, but he hasn't won a bronze. He may win silver or gold.

Thought that was really surreal last night when Colin Jackson predicted Bolt in 9:64, so I then wrote down 9:64 on a post it note just to remember his prediction "and then it happened" (rounded down later to 9:63), but it was a very good call by Colin.

Looking forward to Victoria Pendleton in the Velodrome at 16:45 today, could be another Gold?

Nope. Her final will be on tomorrow. But Jason Kenny should be involved in the gold medal race in the men's sprint later today.

Puspure in the rowing won the c final today comfortably, reckon she would have made the semi final but got a stinker of a draw! So much in sports depends on the heats/draws but tis the same for everyone!

Love the discus, have no idea how they throw it that far with the technique and not much room for error either in that little circle

Seasonal best time too, and just looked nice and tidy coming over the hurdles. Gained there and lost in the sprint for the end, so there's definitely something to be made up there, as she said herself afterwards.

    Hi All,

I'm in work today and can't access the rte.ie live streams.

Does anyone know any other website that i can watch or an app i can download for my samsung which does live coverage?

    Thanks,

Derek Burnett in action in men's trap now. He's 23rd as it stands, but two good rounds today will put him in with a solid chance at the final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Great Stuff from Derval. Finished 12th overall in heats.

Has chance to make final, but will need to knock .2 I think at least to make final

Semi not till tomorrow so she can work on what she needs to do.

    Still going be tough though.

Arggghhhh! The commentators on BBC are so bloody annoying. Anytime there is an athlete who has served a ban for drugs they draw attention to it-they've just done it with a russian woman in the 1500m heats. Everytime Justin Gatlin raced in the 100m they mentioned his double ban That's fine. In fact they even expressed doubt about an Algerian man in last night's 1500m after he produced a super fast time. That wasn't so cool but again not the worst.

What makes it all unbearable is that last night Britain's Christine Ohurougu got silver in the women's 400m. She served a 1 year ban for a doping offence a number of years ago and there was zero mention of it before or after the race even though she ran a freakishly good time by her standards.

BBC Three commentator just did a great interview with Annalise's Mum, lovely little gathering of Irish supporters at Weymouth, her Mum commented that Annalis even had little green white & yellow ribbons in her hair (for good luck) no doubt.

Annalise should at least get a silver.

    BBC THREE - live now . . .

I love the way we're all watching the sailing but none of us really know what's going on or understand the sport too much :D

We just want the commentator to say "And Annalise has won gold!!!"and we can all celebrate :p
