Just quoting what they said back in the studio. She literally did her (personal) best though, so I'm absolutely delighted for her.

It wasn't me!

He's up to twelfth after the first transition. This is a seriously good performance. He came in with no expectations or promises, and looks like that's doing him a lot of good. Excellent performance. Hope it stays strong through the cycle, which is regarded as one of his strong disciplines. If he comes into the run in a commanding position this could be one of our better finishes.

EDIT: 6th after the first lap on the bike! Cracking stuff! Only 21 seconds off the leading pace too.

Once any athletic person gets close or beats a PB thats all you can ask. She can be proud, but others in different league im afraid.

UK Athletics has sunk over 1,000,000 quid into him down the years.

He went missing carrying an injury, his coach couldn't get him, his Team Boss couldn't get him. No one knew if he was even going to turn up and what state he'd be in if he did. Then yesterday he arrives so his coach has no time to really figure if he is fully fit or how to manage him. He might not have qualified but carrying on the way he has will mean his good will within UK Athletics/TeamGB is gone. Charles Van Commenee must be ready to explode.
